There seems to a general creep of permissions with several apps now requiring permissions that clearly have nothing to do with their core function. It occurred to me that one solution may to be run such applications in a sandbox such that they don't have access to the data on the rest of the phone and I had seen KNOX billed as a sandbox but it is difficult to see through the pitch to corporations to see if this would be of any use to me when both the sandbox and the host would be running personal applications.
