Knox

Are there any good qualities about Knox? I was looking forward to it because I had read that it would make the device more secure from things like third parties being able to remotely access your phone. But from these forums all I read is how bad it will be and not to get it. Are there any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance!

Although I'm far from an expert, my understanding of the situation is that KNOX will make it much harder to root phones, in part because it aims to make the phone more secure. I'm interested to hear what other people have to say about it though.

Knox is great for phones which are for personal/business use. With Knox your company can have their own part of your phone for business use and you can switch back to the personal side when work is through. The big question in my mind is; Doesn't this all depend on how good your companies IT department is?

I was under the impression that Knox is basically an Android VM running inside Android (or next to it?). That way work/personal information is segregated. I like my phone to be setup with no PIN under some circumstances (at home, in the car, etc), but if I want to get my corporate email I need a PIN active 100% of the time, the end. I think that Knox should let me separate the two, so that I only need a PIN to access the Knox side, and the personal side is whatever I feel is appropriate for my own security.

Corporate IT is a whole other issue though...
