Help Lack of Internal Memory = Rooting ?

Should I root so that I can put the memory card as the default storage option instead of the phone memory, I want to download lots of apps but the lack of internal memory is killing me.

Using SDK doesn't always work. When I tried it, I managed to move most apps to the SD card (that I previously could not), but the internal space did not increase as expected!

For example I moved a 3MB app and my internal space only increase by 0.2MB.

I've also noticed that when some moving apps to the SD card normally (using an apps2SD app downloaded from the Market), it does not move the whole app just a percentage of it (the percentage various).

This is a sad fact of letting Android manage what parts of apps go onto the SD card, and it is unavoidable. Often the fraction of moved data is so ridiculously insignificant it wasn't worth attempting.

Long story short, link2sd. It actually works, without impairing your apps. You will need to root but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
