I am a lover of the optimus one but am bugged by a problem constantly these days that frustrates me to the core making the whole experience with this phone horrible.
If u find this post too long, just take a look at the sections underlined - they are the queries for which I am looking for answers.
Whenever i type a number and hit the call icon, it takes about 4-5 sec for it to actually initiate the call and worse, when i hit the "end" icon after the call, it displays this stupid message "hanging up" for an incredibly long 5-6 sec during which i'm not sure if the call has been terminated or not. This problem appears during every single call that i make.
This problem apart, whenever i download a new app that can't be moved to SD card, i get this "phone memory low" alert when the phone memory dips below 20MB. Apps like Gtalk can't be launched until u have this alert cleared. This is quite obvious but what I don't understand is that i CAN see 1-2 MB cleared in the phone memory when i uninstall any of the apps installed on the SD CARD and the alert goes off!!
The prob is all the google apps are phone only and cannot be moved to the SD card - so gmail, gtalk, gesture search, google maps, google translate, android market, voice search and street view - these google apps themselves have used up most of the internal memory and the rest of it are occupied by essential apps like facebook, handcent sms, swipe,wikitude etc which i can't afford to remove.
Today i installed SWYPE and got the internal storage low alert, and to free internal storage,i removed yahoo messenger and another app both of which were installed on the SD card!!!
So this is a pathetic scenario where inspite of having froyo that enables u to move apps to SD, u r forced to limit the number of apps on the phone even if u have a 32gig SD card
I guess you have to put up with such limitations ( caused by low internal memory) when u go for a budget phone. But why can't google provide an option to move atleast apps like gesture search and google translate to SD card? Can't these apps do their job residing on the SD card??
