Root landscape keyboard lag

I'm having horrible keyboard lag in landscape on my eris... is anyone else having this lag and can anyone help? This lag is driving me crazy!

What ROM are you running (you've posted your query in the "all things root Eris" forums, I'm assuming you've rooted your Eris )?

I've rooted and flashed a few roms but im sticking on kaos froyo (currently on v27), but ive always had this lag on all of the other roms too

If you have been experiencing the lag gradually, watching it build up to a noticeable point, it might do you well to perform some maintenance, such as deleting messages and emails, clearing caches in applications > manage applications, etc.. then reboot the device.

Also, have you overclocked? If not, the KaosFroyo ROM takes kindly to overclocking as high as 710 (some users going higher, but I don't recommend it), which has a dramatic effect on speed at all aspects of the operating system, even the keyboard lag for many users.

Other things that have been known to help are to turn of haptic feedback for the keyboard, and to disable text prediction.

Thanks for the help, and i have overclocked, but i still cant type really fast, but fast enough for me. It just bugs me that i cant type as fast as i can on an iphone.

Which iPhone? I've got co-workers with iPhones and the only one I've seen with quick typing capabilities is the 4, and it's about as fast as my rooted Eris on xtrROM.

The others, the 3G with its 620Mhz CPU underclocked to 412, and the 3GS at 600Mhz seem laggy compared to mine.
