Help Landscape problem!!

Hey guys..i just got my note 2 about 2 weeks ago..ive noticed that once in a while the landscape will not work..i have the auto rotate checked but the landscape will not work. not sure if its an app thats causing it or what...the only way to get it to work again is to restart the phone then it works..but by end of the day it would stop working..

One time when it stopped working i wanted to test the sensors so i went to *#0*# and did the image test and all sensors are working properly ..so could it be a software issue?? should i factory reset the phone??? anyone else with same problem?

I'd reset the phone if u don't mind the hassle of setting everything up again. I've had all sorts of issues with BB's, Motos, Nexus, and YES, even my Note 2, that a reset fixed. I just yesterday reset the Note and it did indeed fix my issue with a battery drain from the process "Media" (NOT Media server) draining the battery. Sometimes weird things happen to these little electronic devices of ours that only a reset will fix. good luck. hope its not hardware, but I trust you have a warranty for that. :)

I'm having the opposite problem. I've had my Note 2 for 3 months and it keeps getting stuck in landscape mode and nothing but the home page will go into portrait mode. I also have to restart it to get it to stop. Not quite ready to do a reset yet, just hoping it doesn't start happening more often.

I had to restart mine today too. Have had my note2 for less than a week. Hope this is going to be an on going issue. Mine would stick in landscape, I could turn off the screen rotation to stick it into portrait.

Go to Settings -> Display and scroll down to Smart Rotation. If you have it On, disabled it while still keeping Auto-rotate screen selected. See if that will fix your problem.

Another suggestion, which could be realistic because you mentioned that rebooting your phone fixes the problem, go through a list of your recently installed apps and try to see if you remember when the problem first started and which apps was installed around that time. With this phone, you don't even have to uninstall apps. Go to Application Manger, list of all apps and disable those you think might cause a problem. You will be surprised how many apps cause hardware problems (battery drain, GPS hijacking, etc.)

And in general, it usually rule of thumb - with any new smart phone you get before you start tinkering with setting, do factory reset right away. Start with a clean slate ;) and you will be amazed how many problems you will avoid.

Ok I did a hard reset and it didn't help. .factory reset last night and just right now the landscape stopped working. .while the Landscape wasnt working I did some tests to see if it was the hardware again. .I tested the camera icons and they all switched from portrait to landscape. .I also did the image test again at*#0*# and the landscape works. . I'm at lost here. . Now I'm gonna try the app. .try to figure out if an app is causing this problem. If I can't fix it I have to return it..
