Help language typing problem

I have two languages active in settings but when I try to change language keyboards by swiping space key nothing happens. This was working before but now quit working. Any ideas ?

Thank you for your post.

There are currently 23 different models of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and over 1,000 different stock Samsung firmware versions, worldwide, covering 3 different Android platforms. Not all issues will affect all models or firmware releases and your answers to the following questions will help in the forum's answers to your specific query.

#1 Could you post your Model number and Android version...

To locate these, go to...

Settings > More > About device > Model number and Android version

This will give you the model of Samsung Galaxy S4 that you have and which Android version you are on.


#2. Your current Firmware, (not just Baseband), version .

To locate your current firmware version, go to the stock, Samsung, dial pad and type in...

*#1234#

This will give you your, "Version", details in full, usually 3 lines of information, AP: CP: CSC:, which may all be relevant.

*** If code *#1234# has been disabled on your firmware, you can download and install, free from the Play Store, Phone Info and it will give you, under Firmware Info... PDA, Baseband, CSC, versions.


#3. Also helpful would be your carrier, (service provider), location, (UK, India, Russia, USA, etc: ), and if your phone is rooted or not and running a custom ROM, (give details).

Thanks. Okay, the model number of my phone is: GT-19500; the Adroid version is: 4.4.2.

The firmware version is as follows:

AP: 19500XXUFNB3
CP: 19500XXUFNA6
CSC: 19500OXEFNC2

Regarding my phone service, I use MTC a Ukrainian telephone company. I am sorry, not sure what a "rooted" service means.

OK... you are on the latest, recently released, KitKat firmware for the International octa core model, i9500.

Try step #1 and even #2 in #1.3 of Update Problems - Dummies Guide to see if that solves your problem.
 
This problem occurs using the samsung keyboard in all applications that require typing, doest work in any of them (message, facebook, etc.) So i went to all applications, found the samsung keyboard app, deleted the cache, didnt help, then cleared the data, again no help. FYI before i contacted you, i completely reset my phone (factory data reset), but still did not resolve the problem. But it WAS working before, so something happened that caused it to quit working.
 
Unfortunately, as this is the All Things Root section of the forum, very few of us will even have the stock Samsung keyboards on our custom ROMs and so therefore, I have asked our friendly and helpful Mods to move your thread to the General Forum for the S4 where users will be on the same stock firmware as yourself and should be able to help you.
 
Okay, thanks! i downloaded it and it works fine, dual language swipes and all! So that takes care of my problem. You dont need to re-post in the general forum. Thank you so much for your help!
 
Moving the thread is better anyway, because I'm sure you aren't the only person with the language/keyboard problem. This would be the first place that the ended up if they started looking in Android Forums.

I am having a problem with switching language by sliding on the spacebar button.

My samsung galaxy S4 model number is: GT-19500 and the Android version is: 4.4.2.

The firmware version is as follows:

AP: 19500XXUGNI1
CP: 19500XXUGNH1
CSC: 19500OLBGNI1

Regarding my phone service, I use DIGI a Malaysia telephone company.

hello , guten abend ....
so that problem already fixed but you have to follow a simple steep that ,,,,,,, I have found the solve to that proplem .... you should download an app called (((Greenify))) from play store . After you doenload it . U should go to settings >> accessibility and turn it on then off . thats all then It will work with you . have it well enjoy

no troubels with sistems or updating etc nu thing at all , enjoy
