Help Laptop no longer recognises S2

Until recently I've been connecting my S2 via USB to my laptop to sync files

However for some strange reason the Laptop (and Kies) no longer recognise the phone ...have tried every USB port but its like nothing is connected - no linked devices showing at all. The phone screen is showing as connected.

The only thing that's changed is updating new version of Kies ...i even tried installing it and and installing again but made no difference.

Any ideas ??
 
did u enable USB debugging mode? if u have, u need to manually mount ur phone/sd card for u to view it on ur computer
