Last day for me on this Note 4 forum... been a good run!

@ philayl your comment:
...anyone who doesn't want this has obviously never been in a situation where a battery pull has been necessary to rescue a phone.
Originally I thought so too, but not anymore... "If your Galaxy S6/S7 or S6/S7 Edge is frozen or unresponsive, hold Power and Volume down for more than seven seconds and it should reboot. Boom."

My last day on the Note 4 area was suppose to be last Friday.
Just can't leave one of my favorite places just yet...I really liked the Note 4 and the folks that hang out here... :D

I have looked at the new LG G5, and have to admit it looks pretty impressive, I think it will be a while before LG drop the removable battery, they realise that there is a market for phones with this feature, a quick trawl of the Internet will show that there are many, many people unhappy with Samsung's decision to take away the removable battery, anyone who doesn't want this has obviously never been in a situation where a battery pull has been necessary to rescue a phone. Precisely Phil, and that is why I will never buy a phone that the battery will NOT come out of it.

Every cellphone I have owned, going clear back to the first one in the dark ages.... every one of them has at one time or another just simply "locked up".

once they do that, they will not respond to the push buttons, and there is no way to reset them unless the battery runs completely down.

contrast that to a simple 3 second "rip the battery out" all is okay now.

If that new S7 locks up, it won't respond to any Push Button, so that "Hold it longer than xy seconds" is not valid.

If you get angry enough you can get the battery out of any phone. Granted, you may find it hard to put some phones back together again, but another day another problem ;)

Based on your experience in your other thread, I am sure you were close to the required level of frustration.

Regards,
Eric.

True Eric, these so called smart phones can be very unsmart (invented a new word!) at times. But with me it's not just the probability of a battery pull, I also carry a spare battery with me, they are nice and small and very unobtrusive, unlike the emergency chargers that some people seem to advise. @jack58
you are slow on the stick boy, your Signature is out of date :D
Updated, thanks for reminding me. I wish they'd let me put this in my Signature like they do on the xda forum:

I started this fun thread over here in the lounge if you want to visit:
How many and what cell phones you've had the last 15 years? It has been fun!

Sigh, I have led a sheltered lifestyle....
never could afford the coins to just throw to the winds and change phones every six months like most folks do.
If it isn't broken, I have to keep using what I have.

I can't remember the old stuff anymore, Nokia for sure, a Motorola flip something, those are all I can think of brand wise before Samsung released the Galaxy series. I have the 'S' Fascinate and it is still working, I charge the battery once in a while so it don't go stale. It has be pushed back into service several times when someone lost or broke a phone ( not me though ).

I have two S5s that work perfect, one is registered, one is in reserve now since I acquired my Note 4...
