Root Last final help

Ok so i think i have managed to partition my sd card. But how do i check? I havent got a custom ROM installed yet if that makes a difference.

I think i want to try a Miui rom first so any stable suggestions?

Second means after the fat32 partition (to the right in GParted's display).

Take all of the backups (Ti, Nandroid, any call/MSG backups) before trying to flash it.
Can't see why it shouldn't work, but they do warn you that this is a beta.

Yeah i saw some people commenting on WiFi problems with that ROM. Anyone know of any Miui good stable ROMs?

Final stupid question Miui XJ

MIUI_XJ_CMUpdater_Mod_for_OTA_V7_Signed.zip - [Click for QR Code] (604.9 KB, 4748 views)

This is the right file? That page has a lot of things on it.
Second i can just put that entire zip on my sd card and flash it?
Also what are the steps to flashing a ROM on 4EXT recovery?

Big Thanks

Not sure an updater is right for installing for the first time. I'd be tempted to download the full rom from Index of /download/xavierjohn22/files/Full_Roms/2.2.17 (the A2SD file, 87MB in size, should be fine). Then flash that from recovery (after backups).

You will need to wipe the phone (factory reset) before flashing a new ROM, which you can do from recovery. Taking a nandroid first means that if anything goes wrong you can just restore the nandroid and be back where you were.

Ok so ive flashed, all has gone well. Now onto getting all my stuff back. Downloaded Titanium backup again, as it is installing apps i get low memory notification. Have i done something wrong?

Couple of suggestions:

* start a terminal emulator. Type the following commands:

su
a2sd reinstall

That should help if for any reason the a2sd script (assuming it's still DarkTremor) has not initialised properly.

You could also try

su
a2sd cachesd

which will move the dalvik cache to sd-ext.

Note that the phone will reboot after these commands.

* The other thing to look at the front page of Ti Backup and see what it says at the bottom. That should tell you how much a2sd storage is available/used. If there's nothing about a2sd or ext that might mean the script isn't working, in which case see above. Quick System Info is also good for checking this.
