Previous issues I've had have been resolved and I'm really starting to get used to and loving Android and the Note. There's still a couple things that I'm trying to figure out...

Picture size. Coming from an iphone, if I took a picture, it was very easy to share. (instagram, mms, facebook/twitter) With the Note, I feel like sharing/moving photos is not so easy. The file always seems to be too big. I was given advice to download 'quickpic', which has helped, but it's still not very simple, and when I try to resize the only way I know how, it normally lowers the sharpness of the photo. Plus, it's a little annoying to have to open up a separate app to fix the size. I know I can use Instagram's camera to take a pic and it will fit, but I guess I'm specifically talking about snapshots and/or pictures taken and edited with an app like picsart, then trying to put it on Instagram. Is there a setting that will automatically reduce the size of a photo when I take it?

Voicemail... I was really racking my brain trying to figure out where the iphone style voicemail was, and after doing some searching, I've found that AT&T's Note did not come with visual voicemail?!? Is there an easy fix for this? How can such a brand new, amazing phone, still use prepaid Nokia style voicemail?

Portrait/Landscape mode. Is there a setting that makes it a little harder for the phone to switch between the two. I feel like 80% of the time immediately after unlocking my phone, it automatically switches to landscape, and then very lagging-ly switches back to portrait (not sure if the lag is from that or from the numerous GO Launcher theming I've done). I can turn it off and live without landscape, but I actually really enjoy using it in that mode sometimes, just not everytime I unlock my phone.

AutoMateIt, or any of the other similar apps. I'm really having trouble understanding how to set this appropriately based on the wording. (almost zero computer knowledge) I want my phone to automatically turn data off when connected to wifi, and automatically turn data on when disconnected to wifi.. I do this manually and it would be nice to not have to anymore. I downloaded the app and was a little nervous about what I was actually setting... anyone have this set to my preference and have the exact wording for it? (Or would anyone argue that this is unnecessary? I never did this with my iphone (just let it happen automatically) but having the option to do it, makes me feel like I should...)

Thanks guys! I Love this phone!!! I love Android! I love these forums for helping me to maximize the potential of both.

Good questions. I am awaiting answers for answers to those questions as well. Coming from a jailbroken iphone guru to now feeling like a rookie. I am having trouble just adding the 5 day accuweather forecast widget.....looking forward to some experienced help

well the VM I use youmail on my samsung galaxy s2, works great and callers get a cool personal greeting... others like google voice, but I prefer youmail..

Same here. I thought I knew it all with my jailbroken iphone, switching to Android is learning a new language...

Not to jack your thread but any help with that extended forecast widget? I am unable to find it or activate it. also can you recommend any apps that are a must have from a previous iphone user?

One of the former iPhone biggies for me is the "silent mode widget". It's the closest thing I've found to having that tab on the outside of the iphone to silent your phone...

It's an extra step rather than being a hardware button, but it also give you a third option... silent, vibrate, sound.

I always jailbroke, so I'm more into minimalist/dark themes, but if you're used to iphone's theme/style, there's plenty of free themes (GO Launcher EX) available to replicate the look and feel of iOS.

Thanks for the help regarding those couple of tweaks. Aside from the size of the phone of course the more I use the note I am realizing how simple and effective iOS really is.....

Not to beat the oldest discussion/debate to death yet again, but this is at the core of what separates iOS from Android (doesn't make one better than the other, just different): iOS is very intuitive and easy to use straight out of the box. Android is more a clockwork of parts, designed for user-level customization.

As such, it's likely iOS will always be easier to use and get used to (and as a matter of course, harder for those accustomed to it to break away), but it's limited in its capabilities. Android takes some learning (if you want to get the full Android experience) but there are no bounds on what you can do with it.

So it boils down to "easy enough for anyone to use but boring as white walls within a couple of months (tops)", OR "less intuitive with few if any constraints for customization".

You make the call.
