Latest Custom Roms

I loaded the fresh 2.1.2, but I use sprint navigation, when I tried to send the apk I got stuck in a reboot loop. Tried it 3 times with a wipe and flash in between :( And I can't find a fix to t hat anywhere. Is there a Fresh 2.2 somewhere that I missed?

Yeah.... I found the performance of DC 2.09 to be superior as well until I tried to use the wireless tether application with no success. Isn't that one of the features that makes us want to root in the first place. Had to switch to Fresh... Fresh is also a great ROM, but as most of U know, it is not lag free. The greatest thing about Fresh to me would the fact that the wirless tether app is on board immediately after flash... and it works perfectly!:cool:
 
For those like me who basically like stock 2.1 Sense but not the performance issues, and who rooted mainly for the ability to tether, here's the one you've been waiting for: the latest .6 Sprint ROM, but deodexed with root access and Wifi Tether preinstalled. It also comes with all the standard stock Sprint apps, but you can of course delete whichever ones you want.

Having been running this new ROM since yesterday, I can report the following: With stock .5, it took on average 10 seconds to open a contact in the people app, and another five seconds to connect when initiating a call. Now, with .6 installed, contacts open in 1-3 seconds and calls connect in 2-3 seconds. Not super-insta-lightning-fast, but a serious improvement nonetheless.

Have U used the latest ROM by Fresh.. If so.....how do they compare performance wise? The lag on this phone is sickening!
 
Is DC 2.09 working better? The last time I tried to go from DC 2.08 to .09 I got stuck in a boot loop. Does it really seem faster than 2.08??

Also, for some reason, when I flash Fresh I can never get Sense to work. It's always stock android. Anyone else have this problem?

I also had the boot loop when going from 2.08 to 2.09 the first try. When I wiped data and dalvik, and then flashed 2.09, it worked fine. Don't remember why, but I didn't care for it, and went to ZenEXP.. REALLY nice rom, fast smooth...

Make a current nandroid and check it out. You can always go back easily.

Nah, this is the only one I've tried. I only just rooted a couple of weeks ago to get Wifi Tether going, and kept running stock .5 until now.
 
i just installed the latest fresh rom for my hero, and i must say its actually doing quite well for me now. it has virtually no lag(an occasional hiccup but nothing i cant get over). just installed the vanila lock screen(its so simple yet i like it better than the original pull down one). now putting darchkernal(aka darchhoney) on it. the processes confused me at first but now im getting the hang of it all.
 
Does anyone else get a broken link page when you try to open the link for the new ROMs? Does anyone know where to get new ROMs? Links please.

Probably out of room. I made the same mistake and kept like 10 nandroids. Looked at the folder and it was 3.86 GIG!!! I had about 300 meg left on an 8 gig card. worse was trying to restore a nandroid. All it did was boot loop. Oh well, I learned something and pass it on, hope it helps.:D

when you flash fresh there is a folder located on your SD, called fresh removed apk's. all the apps that were removed are in there. (self titled?)

i got that error too when i first rooted. what i did was install clockwork from the app market. and i really didnt like the recovery, so i un-installed it and my nandroid worked just fine afterwords. this may resolve your issue.

Just installed Cm6 rc1 2.2 froyo, and it is pretty awesome. I've been luck and have had no force closes. I have launcher pro as my home replacement with weather toggle widgets and its lookin pretty nice. Not as cool looking as sense ui,and miss some of the htc apps and widgets but i'll take the speed boost any day.
