Latest i9100 modems

(It's LP3 modem by the way mate. Presumably this is older than LP6,LPQ? Not sure these days!)

I have a sneaky suspicion that LP3 is newer than LPQ for some unknown reason!

Can anyone definitively confirm this?

EDIT

I've got a feeling that it was Steslatt who put that thought in my tiny mind.

I know that there is an LP7 floating around but, to be perfectly honest, I've lost the plot... sorry... the track on firmware numbering.

Yeah I think lp3 is the latest. Wanamlite 10.2 is based on lp3. And there was me thinking that 3 came before 6 and 7. I'm going to hand to track down my old maths teacher and have a word.

LP3 is used on the O2 release of ICS... if that helps!

ooops massive picture, how the hell do i edit that lol

LPR modem is off the new LP3 firmware i think, i just happened across it whilst browsing

You might be right old stick!

LP3 does have a LPR modem in the O2 firmware shown here:-

[All Official ICS Firmwares] I9100XWLP3 (4.0.3) - O2 (UK) [27-3-12] - xda-developers

Still says LP3 when you download it though...:confused::confused:

I'm going for a lie down... wake me when you've sorted it all out! ;)

EDIT

Well done iT0mm0!

Looks like Shotty is falling down on the job again! Can't get the staff!

The LP7 modem I posted was DX, that ones XX.

I've been secretly hoping someone else would post a few modems and it looks like iT0mm0 is it. No backsies.:D

Where's your pride Shotty?

There's going to be an LPS modem soon... go for it! :D

LP7 is a terrible modem for me ( 3 UK) no signal in computer room at all and 200 kbps, ditched im going back to LPR lol

I'm getting slightly better signal on LPR on average if my asu is anything to go by, but nothing to shout home about compared with LPQ. Not had any calls to test it in terms of actual quality as nobody likes me. :(

I'll keep LPR on tonight to see how it compares with LPQ in terms of battery drain.

(Shotty's abortive link removed... for safety reasons)

About time too! ;)

Shotty rules.. OK! :D

EDIT I can see only one tiny eensy, weensy, drawback to this LPS modem... it won't install!

Keeps saying, "Installation aborted"

April Fools Day was yesterday Shotty!

I'm sure if you pull your finger out Shotty, all will be forgiven provided a cwm flashable version is supplied within the next 5 minutes....

Otherwise I vote for your guide status to be revoked forthwith!

:D

Edit: just trying out the modem guru's (ironass) link now.... :)

I wonder if we could get the OP to change the title of this thread to, say...

"Latest i9100 modems (well, sort of, maybe, perhaps)" :D

It beats my previous modems, indoors, at my desk. See post #108

I suppose I could make the ultimate sacrifice and test out at the Twilight Zone pub... again! ;)
