what's the difference between the latest model and previous models? from what I'm getting its better, but thought I'd inquire.

just got mine 2 days ago, GPS works all the time in less than 3 seconds , not many bugs, beside the volume low on the headset (around 60% of other phones), but get back to normal if you use the call function for some reason, BTW mine was manufactured in august 2011 and I buy it from amazon at $ 219 if that can help, and the little light on the bottom of the left screen is still there, but I can barely see it , thanks to the silicone cover....:p
 
I don't know that they even have a "latest" model and even if there are I don't know that there would be much difference. Some people have had no issues with the ones that were just released and other people have. I seriously doubt that anything has changed.

Well, I found a "fix" for the headphone "bug",
I start Pandora first, turn it off, go back to Power AMP and "magically" the sound is around 30% louder 'till you take the headphones...repeat as needed...:D

You can just pause the music for a few seconds and it does the same thing.
 
I saw alot of listings on ebay that said latest model and was curious. I recieved my phone today NIB and soon as everything was setup it rebooted about 3x. it wasn't the activation reboot going either. I have significant light bleed, but the gps locks on pretty quick ly. so far I like it better than the warp. so hopefully its better than the first batch.

Are there any date codes or anything to look for when picking them out on the shelf. I purchased the bestbuy 2 year warranty when got mine in July and might take it in and try to exchange it.

No, there is nothing but speculation when it comes to that sort of thing. It seems there have been less complaints lately, but that could be for many reasons (less people buying it?) other than it possibly having less issues.
 
I actually just got a "newer model" as a replacement yesterday. The date on the back said it was from January of this year. Only problem on it is the light leakage and the bottom corners where the soft keys are at seem flimsy when compared to my broken Triumph. Everything else seems fine though.

When you shoot video and play it back on a computer or through the HDMI, how's the sound? What's the GPS lock time? Thanks!
