Help Launch bar item missing

[Wham Bam Splat]

Hi folks

Stock SGY unrooted.

On the home-screen there is a bar at the bottom on which four icons appear:
dialer, contacts, messaging and application launcher.

For no reason I can discern the "messaging" icon is no longer there. I can still access messaging by going in to launcher and finding it there amongst the other programs but that takes longer to get to an application that I use often. So I'd really like to put it back. But I can't find any way to do this.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Open Menu->click the options button (left on the the buttons)->click "edit"->Drag the message icon to the bar and save..
