Help Launcher default clearing

I'm not sure why this is happening. Every now and then, my launcher (apex) is no longer the default, so when I push the home key it prompts me to choose which launcher I want to use. I know generally the fix-all for apps is to clear the cache, but I don't know if this is bad to do for a launcher.
So basically my question is: will it cause problems to clear apex's cache?

Edit: forgot to add this earlier, but I'm not rooted.

Find touchwiz launcher (cant remember its name) in settings, applications, ALL, select it and disable it.
Then Apex will be the only launcher (only disable if youre sure its the tw launcher)

I can't. The button for disable is (how do you describe it...) darker and not active? Idk how to say it, you know what I mean.

"Greyed out"? Bummer. Idk then man. Even if you were rooted id never suggest uninstalling the stock launcher.
If i think of something clever, ill get back mate

P.s, clearing Apex's cache (dont clear data) wont do any harm but if it fixes anythin, then theres fairys in yer phone :D

Go to Settings > Apex Settings > Backup & restore. Backup Apex Settings and Desktop data.

Then clear the cache.

Back into Apex settings > Backup & restore and restore the 2 backups

This shouldn't be relevant (a default is a default), but maybe telling it to keep Apex in memory (Apex settings > advanced) will make a difference?

It really only should ask again if you've installed another app in the meanwhile that can be the target of the home button (in practice, another launcher).

Apex is kept in memory...
And I havnt been downloading any more launchers, however I do have ADW installed, I used to use it and I switched to apex awhile back, but didn't feel like deleting ADW. Could that be causing the problem?

EDIT: cleared apex's cache. Didn't help.

That didn't work, and my widgets were cleared :/ oh well, they weren't pretty.

Turns out the problem is with Swipe Pad. It only happens when I use that to launch an app. Cleared cache, and that didn't fix it. Going to uninstall swipe pad and reinstall. I'll edit this after to tell if it worked.

EDIT: no luck... Any suggestions for fixing swipe pad/other similar apps?

wow, this seems to have stopped happening, no updates to apex or swipe pad... Cool :D

Oh well, im going to be rooting soon anyways. If someone could link a good guide for rooting a verizon gs3 on a mac, that would be helpful. Im having trouble finding one, considering the need for verizon and mac... anyways if you could that would be great :D

Ok, since i got the issue fixed, is there any way for me to delete this thread?
Should i just not worry about it incase other people have the same problem?
