Help launcher items offset - huh?

I installed a couple of apps on my new Optimus today, and I observed that the icons for these are offset in the launcher. The newly placed ones are a whole text row UNDER the other ones.

like if the Xs are icons that were there before, the Ys represent the newly placed icons: the dots don't mean anything, just trying to get the Ys in the right place

.....................YYYY

This bothers my OCD tendencies and I'd love to see a way to fix it.

I am using the stock launcher that came with my phone.

okay, I discovered that a reboot fixed it -- but I'd love to know how to fix this (or at least WHY it happens) without having to reboot my phone.

Did u jst buy it? Mine did that when I first bought it. Don't know why but a reboot fixed it for me too. Never happened since.

I got it about two weeks ago. I discovered this issue a few days ago. Interesting that you had it too.
