Root Launcher Pro on CM7

Has anyone used LP on CM7? if so did it work ok? Is it even possible? Do you just install it over top of ADW?

I have, but the issue is it is hard to choose a default that works. I am getting some widget issues as well. Things changed screen positions randomly on me today. I'm back on ADW, but might go back to a more stock GB build until most of the CM7 bugs are worked out.

(camera/battery short life/signal issues/I lost all my VZW backup contacts and need to get them back anyway)

I'm running Liquid GB and LP is the default launcher. Works great, same as it always has, widgets and all. However, if you use it make sure to move any apps you might have off your sd card and onto your phone because it will cause LP to freeze and you'll have to force close every time you reboot. You might have to run a permission fix in Rom Manager, too. Had this problem myself and finally figured it out and have had zero issues since.

is liquid GB a CM7 based Rom?

I am and had no issues. Yes, just install it and you'll get prompted which launcher to use at the appropriate time.

+1 , in fact, I use adb commands to remove ADW from apps because I prefer LP.

using lp and no issues. As for the contacts, when you get them back on your device, go to your contacts, hit menu and choose import/export. select export to sd card, confirm the file name it gives you, and hit ok, this way you have a copy of your contacts you can use when you are on a ROM without backup assistant

For your contacts I recommend you keep the set you want in Google and forget about the BUA crap. The less Verizon on the phone the better and maintaining your contacts in GMail is far better than what Verizon offers.
