If you long press on the button you want to chance it will pop up with a new window called Select Shortcut. From there pick what option you want that button to be. If you want it to be one of your apps, click on Applications and all of your apps will be in that list.

I see those widgets as icing on the cake. I get to use his awesome launcher (that I cant live without) and get a few extras for donating a measly $3 to him.

I completely agree with this. I bought this today as a donation to the Dev. Hell, right now the only widget he has in there is the People one which I am not even using (nor do I plan to).

But hopefully with enough people signing up for it he will continue to work on this project. This app is amazing and I want to see it continue on. $2.99 is worth it to me for that.

It seems that's not what he's asking. After selecting an application to add to the dock and selecting "custom icon," LP does not parse icon packs for available icons.

Oh, okay. I get it now.

The dock will only allow the icons that are actually set in the SD Card. This is pretty simple to do actually. You install the pack and then use Astro to copy the file over to the card.

Just got it glad to support a great app.

With that said I am pretty much passed the point of wanting HTC widgets as they look nice but are just to big and with just a few added kill your 7 home pages.

It was fine when I first started and had few apps but now I need all the room I can get.
 
Does anyone know if you can use Facebook contact pictures that are displayed in the contact list in the People widget? Mine is just showing blank.

You can. Make sure the accounts are linked and refresh. That's what I just did before coming to the forums today :)
 
BIG PROBLEM>>> i cant download from site through my phone. when i download to my desktop, i do not see an APK file anywhere...when i drag and drop file onto sd and open with stro it just shows all the files again as if im on pc...

can someone give me specific help please...thanks in advance,,,HTC EVO

Did you try emailing it to yourself? If you use gmail, please remember you'll have to use your browser to download the APK. Once downloaded, open and voila. HTH

unfortunately part of the problem is nto being able to download from browser
 
Well let's talk about the problem with your browser then.

When you open your browser (I'm assuming you're using stock), hit menu, hit more, hit downloads, what do you see?

If you've never downloaded anything, I suggest trying to email yourself the app from a pc, then doing as I had said before.

Without having your phone in front of me to troubleshoot it, it's kind of hard to tell what's going wrong.

So at this point, the fastest way to do this (without all the back and forth on a forum having us guess the problem) is to download the file to your PC and then transfer it over to the phone.
 
I love LP and will be happy to pay $3 to download this. I just wonder how will we update once he releases new versions, including the other sense-like widgets, because this is not a Market download.

That's how I feel too.

I think he said though if he drops it onto the SD he can't open it in phone? The way it's worded is imho not the best.

I downloaded it within an hour of so of it being posted and at that time it came as a .zip file. I had to manually change it to a .apk file. Not sure if he fixed that yet...

And he has confirmed that the phones stock browser doesn't allow the download for some reason. He suggests using Skyfire and others are confirming that works perfectly.

Here are the instructions from his website:

Steps (Specific device used: Droid X):
1. Check your e-mail that you used with your PayPal purchase
2. Log into the site and download the LauncherProPlus-0.7.0 (Note: if you are using your device use SkyFire [Skip to step 8 and omit step 9])
3. Connect your android device to your computer via the USB cable
4. On the device drop down the notifications area, select "USB Connection"
5. Select the Radio button for "USB Mass Storage" and press OK
6. On the PC Open up My Computer and select "Removable Disk"
7. Drag and drop, or copy the LauncherProPlus.apk file over to the removable disk (rename it back to .apk in case it is .zip).
8. Download and install Astro File Manager if you do not already have it (link: http://www.androlib.com/android.applica ... o-qzq.aspx)
9. Disconnect your Android Device from the PC
10. Go to your home page, press the menu button, and then press "settings"
11. Click "Applications"
12. Select the Checkbox for "Unknown Sources" and click OK (if not already green)
13. Launch Astro File Manager browse to "/sdcard" (Note: if your lost in Astro click up until you are at "/" and then open the "sdcard" folder)
14. Select the Gold Icon with the House for "LauncherProPlus-X.X.X"
15. Select "Open App Manager"
16. Select "Upgrade"/"Install from the next menu
17. Press OK one or two more times
.... Your Installation should be complete!

He confirms that he is going to make the widgets skinnable, which should avoid any potential C&D.

So we can stop worrying about the app becoming "useless" soon enough. Though I would gladly pay $2.99 for the app to begin with, even without the widgets (that I won't use anyway cause I think they are huge and ugly! :))

In the people widget, I got the pictures to work fine, but how do I change which feed is linked to it for individual people. For instance, when I press on my girlfriends pic, the last icon on the right is Twitter, and I get her last Tweet. But when I press my sisters icon, the icon on the right is Facebook, and i get her last status update. Can I change my GF to be facebook as well, she doesn't use twitter almost at all?

Aside from that, This is the best $3.00 I have spent in a while.

Fede said that he is going to simply add a key to the market version so you can download from there. He will email the key to anyone who has ordered (email will go to the email you use for PayPal). So you update through the "free" version in the market then use the key to activate the Plus features.

No, this won't inpact OTA's or the Froyo update.

I believe that the option you are looking for is in the contact itself. But don't quote me on that! I don't use the people widget and I have turned off the sync for Facebook/Twitter/GMail etc. I like to upload my own pictures and just use those, and it doesn't kill my battery with all the syncing :D

Aside from that, This is the best $3.00 I have spent in a while.

Count me in. I was planning to switch to the Droid X and use Launcher Pro to create an Incredible-like experience. Since then, I've decided to keep my Incredible--but I'll gladly buy the Pro version to help out the developer.
 
Yep, if you use this at all, just get it now. Support the dev, and get the widgets as a bonus. Plus it's at a discounted rate for now. The purchase to install process is wicked simple. Already purchased & IMHO, the people widget is better than that on my DInc. Love it and am looking forward to more widgets to come!
 
Not exactly the most secure download method, lol.. But I understand that he's just doing it this way to introduce the paid version, and when it's on the market it will probably be more (I'd bet $4.99 min to start). So keep those PayPal receipt e-mails nearby, lol...
