Hi all!!

I am purchasing a San Fransisco soon and want to use Launcher Pro to remove all the "Orange" Stuff from the Fone, I know the Fone has the Orange App Store but is the Android Market also installed on the Fone so I will be able to download Launcher Pro?

Thanks in advance

LauncherPro won't remove the Orange stuff. You can drag the Orange icons off the Homescreens, or hide them from the apps list, but they're still 'on the fone'. The only way to completely remove the Orange apps is to flash a non-branded ROM.

The Market will work but you'll need a Gmail account I think.

So will this enable me to have a screen and icons like Android instead of an Orange set up??

Any screenshots using Launcher Pro?

Take a look at the later posts in this thread:

http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/84650-show-us-your-desire-homescreens.html

It's in the HTC Desire section, but the screen resolution is the same and LauncherPro can create exactly the same custom Homescreens. It's a REALLY long thread, but well worth reading. Got lots of info about widgets, wallpapers and docks. Almost all the screens there are made using LP.

I'd recommend flashing your phone with a custom ROM to get rid of the Orange UI and bloatware. You'll then have a stock Android setup....you'll still be able to use Launcher Pro but it'll probably run alot better.

Thanks guys!!

The thing is this, after dragging the Orange Apps off the screen and installing Launcher Pro, could I have the Fone looking more like an Android Fone than having the Orange lay out??

If so this will do me until I decide to Flash the Fone???

Thanks in advance

LauncherPro lets you change the dock background image and dock icons (at the bottom of the Homescreen), and there are 2 options built in that are the original stock Android docks.

You can also change the wallpaper to anything you like.

That's the beauty of Android phones - you can customise every part of the theme.

Hi guys, I just downloaded Launcher Pro & I had message on android market saying..

This application has access to services that cost you money- Directly call phone numbers.

Also it says reads your SMS or MMS , edit SMS OR MMS & read Gmail.

Is there anything I should worry about with using this app??

Nothing to worry about. The Plus version of LP has widgets that need access to SMS, email, etc., and the People widget needs access to Contacts and their phone numbers.

Great stuff cheers for letting me know!!

BTW as anyone tried ADW Launcher??

OK guys, first post here.

I'm a complete Android newbie with a new San Francisco. I want to get rid of some of the Orange apps. I'm a bit scared of some of the more radical solutions, but it sounds like I can at least hide them with LauncherPro.

So I downloaded it from the Market, and it says it's installed. This may sound stupid, but... now what? Where is it, and how do I use it? I can't see it as an icon anywhere!

You got to make it your Default Launcher, see here, should be enough info to get you started:

How do I open LauncherPro?
