launcher query

I have had problems with the launcher crashing on nexus s and various suggestions say to clear launcher data. Can anyone tell me if this wipes anything off your phone??? I dont want to do it in case!!

Moved to the android lounge where it should get better attention.

Clearing your launcher data should only take it back to the default state of the Launcher and not the phone. It should not do anything to the phones memory.
