The LP Widget settings are generally fairly limited. There's no way I know of to edit the icon size or colour.

Do you know where more information could be found about the "LauncherPro Shortcuts" and "Activities" options in the "Select shortcut" menu (presented when selecting "Menu" -> "Add" from LP).

I think this deserves to be a "sticky" in the hope that it will stop posters asking the same Launcher Pro questions that you've already answered.

UPDATE

Belay the sticky idea. I've just seen it included in the Android Applications sticky.

I wonder how many people will read it though?

Hey, that's something I haven't seen before! Looks like a shortcut creator for anyone who knows something about Android coding, although that's beyond my knowledge. I really hope someone can post some details of what's possible, looks very interesting.
 
noob question:

I changed dock background by selecting custom and used https://photos-3.dropbox.com/i/xl/2...Ueo3it041VOqQGTTGc/9451596/1296644400/9ad0782

so now I start to assign "texts" to "messages" app using change shorcut. But then it propmts me again to "change icon". But I dont want again any icon, its already written as "texts"

or I have to get all the images in dock jpeg as separate icons and use them with "change icon"??

Am I missing something
 
If the word "Text" is already written on the dock background, then you assign that dock position as a shortcut to your Messaging app and choose a transparent icon which you should be able to find and download. So the shortcut is there, but there's no visible icon.

Remember, the usual way the dock works is you add a custom shortcut with a custom icon on top of a dock background. LP doesn't know that the icon you want is already on the dock background.

I had no luck getting this to work when I tried a few months ago.

in your launcher dock, just choose handcent for the dock and then when it comes up with the lil menu with "default icon, launcherpro icons and custom icons" just choose Custom Icon and pick any icon you have on your phone (that you have downloaded or pushed over from your computer) or use one of the mono colour launcher pro icons.

What Eris was talking about was if people have use folder organizer to change an icon which is to be used on the desktop NOT launcher bar...when you change it handcent wont show icon count etc..

The launcher dock will show icon count REGARDLESS of what icon you have...so just use LP's OWN way for icons that I mentioned above and everything will be as they say....gravy :P

Thanks for clearing that up, you're exactly right. Change the SMS app icon using LauncherPro rather than FolderOrganiser and the unread count is shown :) I added a clarification to the original post.

Quick question. Notifications don't show up (handcent) in the launcher bar: what gives?

stupid answer here....but have you made sure that notifications are turned on in LauncherPro settings?

I know thats an obvious thing, but some people forget it...hell I have at times lol
 
I got a question for anyone with experience using the launcher icons. I tried to change the dock to one that has words instead of icons..it worked..except I had icons over words ie instead of just "phone" I have "phone" over the picture of the phone..same with contacts txts and gmail.

How do I get rid of the dock icons ??

I use both Launcher Pro + and Go Launcher EX, and with both i have the same problem, that is
when i connect as Mass Storage or through Kies, it does not work unless i switch to my stock Launcher
Any fix for this?
 
Damn you Reinbeau....thats normally the question I'm always answering...thanks to SUroot normally pointing everyone who asks that my way lol its in my sig too lol...anyway :p

does this problem happen ALL the time? also are you clicking the message in the bar then being directed to your sms/mail app and reading it fully?

as if that is the case then you shouldn't have the bubble for unread count still there....it should clear, the only time it DOESNT clear, is if you hit the clear button in your notification bar....as of course...unread mail/sms/missed calls are STILL there...just not in the notification bar..

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling LP?
