LauncherPro Plus

I love LauncherPro, so I'll probably buy it just to support the dev. Having some exclusive widgets is just icing on the cake.

I think that he should be just fine as long as he doesn't copy the HTC widgets exactly. None the less, I'm still proud to support Fede in the work he has done and will do in the future.

I agree with you. I don't care for the People widget and I have no intention of ever using it. And I'm not sure I'll use any of these other HTC-style widgets he plans to introduce (unless they totally blow me away). But I felt compelled to purchase the Plus version just so I could support the work Fede has done over the past few months. I've been using LauncherPro since the day it was made available and I haven't used another home launcher since.

Why am I having such problems with Launcher Pro? I set it as default and when I open some programs or widgets, or when I download some apps it reverts back to the default launcher. What am I doing wrong?

It seems to always happen when I open my "settings" window.

Thanks

Ditto, I love this and ADW, and while I never used the HTC widgets on my Eris and plan on continuing that plan on my DROID I do like the opportunity to support one of people giving this platform a really good name.

Also aren't there already, plenty of widgets that do the equivalent to the HTC widgets? *cough* Pure messenger/Calendar

Update 0.7.1.0 is out now and includes a bookmark widget. FYI, the bookmarks widget pulls your bookmarks from the stock app only right now. I am going to ask Fede of he can add an option to select what browser to pull from.

Enjoy!

Dumb question but how do you add a app widget instead of a shortcut to the bottom scroll bar. It only prompts shortcuts?
Thanks

Edit...never mind, left side of brain kicked in ....

I loved this app and was quick to buy the full version but it just caused a horrible lag, no matter what else I deleted from my phone. ADW was always 2nd with me but I put it back on and it is faster than stock. My phone is faster than it has ever been. Gonna have to keep this on here until things change with LP. Sorry, dev....

Ok, got it loaded. If you have trouble keeping it as default try using "Clear Default Home" as the one recommended did not seem to work with my froyo root. Figured out how to add apps to the bottom (dah). This is flat out cool!

Fede has stated that the Android system stores bookmarks in a database accessible by any program that has permission to access it. If a non-stock browser doesn't use the Android database to store bookmarks, Fede is unable to pull from that browsers list of bookmarks. He suggested talking to the dev's of any non-stock browser that doesn't use the Android database and requesting that they make it so their browser starts using it or at least stores bookmarks in both the Android database and the browser specific database.

In short words, Fede can't do anything about non-stock browser bookmarks.

So, how do I get the update

I went to the URL where I bought it originally and I only see the old version

And since it's not in the market, I am

First, go to the market and search for Launcher Pro. You will (should) see that it says that there is an update available for it. If not, go ahead and just install it anyways. However, since he is signing it with the same code, it should say that an update is available.

P.S. If you have to install it instead of updating it, be sure to backup your settings and screens from the preferences menu. If you don't do this, you will have to set everything up again! Besides, it's a good idea to make these backups periodically anyways.

After you have it installed, go to this page: LauncherPro Plus Unlock Code and enter your paypal email address. It must be your paypal email address, otherwise, it will not work! The link to the above form originally came from this post on Fede's blog: LauncherPro 0.7.0.2 released. .

When you get the email with your unlock code, go to the preferences and touch the unlock LauncherPro Plus button. Enter your paypal email address and unlock code from the email you got and then it will be unlocked.

You will then receive updates normally through the market.

Got it

Not that interested in the bookmarks widget, but hopefully there will be more interesting updates in the future

Has anybody else noticed that when you enable the 3d drawer the scrolling is better...not only on the drawer but when browsing internet pages, menus etc? I turned the drawer on by accident and was amazed by how smooth it was. I then turned it off and found the scrolling on the drawer a bit choppy. This was also the case when scrolling in other parts of the phone.

Got it last week, updated yesterday, entered the unlock code - no problems. I actually really like that I found SyncMyPix because of this, as it's a nice little app in my opinion.

Now, for my question: anybody else using the People widget and experiencing significantly worse battery life? I was so impressed with Pete's Bugless Beast 0.4 and Chevy's ULV 1.2 gHz kernel and the battery life I was able to enjoy, but I re-installed everything last week after trying out CM 6.0, and I also started using the People widget at the same time, and my battery life has not been up to snuff.

Easily the best app right now on the droid. I seriously can't believe all the stuff you can do with this and at the same time i love how responsive and quick it is. Just sick. i look forward to making tons of customization stuff for it.

I LOVE this app. Having some issues, but hopefully will find fixes as I really dont want any other home screen replacement..

I absolutely love the Plus version, but i've been facing some serious lag lately. Trying to figure out if its another App I d/l or launcher...

The newest version of LauncherPro Plus had been released! As far as I can tell, the only thing included in this update is a calendar widget. I like the calendar widget, but it still isn't what I am waiting for. Fede doesn't have the release notes for this update on his blog yet, but I'm sure they'll be there soon.

Anyways, check the market and pick up the latest update.

I absolutely LOVE the Calendar widget...definitely replaces the stock calendar widget! I'm glad I chipped in to the developer!

I like Calwidget better, but it's good to see that there is work being done on the app

i'll have to try this out, been using the "stock" adw launcher that cyanogen provides in his roms. i love being able to customize my homescreen(s) but i hate the performance sacrifice :(
