Root LBSTest Mode Menu

They have like most of their models removed the LBS test menu in most of their lines of phones from Gingerbread onwards and have set the gps to work either in cold or warm mode as opposed to hot start and only in network mode. I am not sure about when youre on the network but while in this mode, once your off it (overseas or in the middle of nowhere) it will only work once per boot or if you wait an hour or two.

This is what AngryGPS is for but we dont have this for our model. Im guessing they do this so the cache is always pulled from the cell towers each time an app invokes the gps (regualarly) - more data, more cash for the networks even though your device has its own cache that will last at least several hours, so really you only need cache from them once a day at most - theives. Also overusing AFLT when its not necessary i guess would generate them more cash - ping equals data, which in turn equals more cash. Going down from 2 to 1 meter isnt worth it and AFLT should only be used when in a building etc when GPS signals fail.

Effectively they are also lying in their advertisement, these devices are not A-GPS or S-GPS enabled. Im going to get a brand that uses GPSOne next, this is coded into all qualcomm firmware and you can select all modes and its will move between them depening on your circumstances. Samsung have done that age old korean thing of trying to do it differently (they did it with CDma and there own payment system instead of using Visa.) and as always have messed it up and you pay for it with a limited or defective device and thats why they removed the menu. Samsungs a useless company.

Heres the GPSOne which is in the admire board and you can get at this and adjust it if necessary.
You can select them all.

Heres Samsungs - you can only be in one mode and the menu has been removed from the hidden menus.
