Help LCD Connector, broken - Lost Everything?

atlista

Lurker
Ok, so here is the deal, the connector that the LCD ribbon goes into got messed up. The white part that goes over the pins broke and the pins are now messed up. I can't put the ribbon in. My fear is that I just lost EVERYTHING on my phone...I wanted to see if anyone else dealt with this problem before. PLEASE let me know, thank you!

Welcome to the forums!!!

Man that is bad juju. :(

Your sd card contents will be ok, you still have those. Your contacts will be ok if they were saved under your Google account. Unfortunately, if you can't get that LCD screen to work your sms messages and such will be lost. Also, since you took the phone apart your warranty is voided. :(
If the screen can't be connected to the board of the phone It's a lost cause, at least I believe so.

Have you tried to use tweezers to line everything up and Jerry rig it in place?

Anybody have any ideas on a fix for this?

I've searched for hours online for the part alone, nothing.

Had a couple bad boards I had a guy with 20 years exp try to pull the lcd connectors, of course they melted. He told me he could probably get a new part on there without it melting, but I've had absolutely not a single ounce of luck finding the part.

Anyone got any knowledge as to where this part is available?
