love it, some of the things that are bugged are things i dont use... some of them that i do use, i just try to work around the bugs

I only regret it because it woke up what many believe to be a hardware issue, which is causing the audio bug. Other than that, the navigation has come in handy several times and I love the new market look.

That being said, I'm getting my phone replaced tomorrow because of the audio issue, and then I'm flashing the OTA.....which will still allow root access apparently. The Eris is a great phone, plain and simple.

No Regrets. Just like OTD, I've been enjoying 2.1 for a while now and the only thing I would root for (MAYBE) is storing apps to SD card. But I am almost certain that we will get 2.2 down the road which should allow apps to install to SD Card.

I also think that 2.2 would probably be the last major software update for the Eris. (hope I am wrong though)

I think that most leakers who Claim they regret leaking, just have the normal "I want what I can't have" phenomenon. If they never leaked and were able to ROOT or get the OTA, they would probably be complaining about something else. There is always something to complain about :)

nope, because i can now sell my eris on ebay with a "2.1" update and nobody will know it's leaked v3, so no i don't regret.

FWIW

VZW Support Twitter account is still saying v3 leakers, and all leakers for that matter will be able to receive OTA...

@sgtcaulk Tech Support advised that all customers with the leaked version will receive the 2.1 update OTA. *NK

I don't regret using the leaked version at all. I don't really care about root, and I have pretty much extensively tested the 2.1v3 leak vs. my wife's 2.1 OTA (she wouldn't let me touch her phone), and have yet to find any differences whatsoever. All the same bugs, all the same features, nothing seems to have changed.

So basically, I've been enjoying 2.1 on my Eris for awhile.

Don't get me wrong, 2.1 is way better than 1.5 IMO. I do regret flashing the leak though because I want root. Now that 1.5 got root, and the OTA'ers can root, leakers are stuck. Kinda sucks, but nobody forced me to flash it. Not mad, just sucks, oh well.

I'm definitely in the "don't regret" crowd because there is no way that any of us could have seen that a rooted ROM would be handed down just a week after the first leak was released. Heck, devs even upgraded! I grit my teeth when I think about it, because it just plain sucks. At the same time, I have enjoyed 2.1 for a long time now and I'd hate to have sat on 1.5 all that time. It has been a fun ride and I've learned an enormous amount about our phones through this endeavor.

Heeeeck no I don't regret leaking! I had the brand new shiny toy months before my roommate had it for his Motorola Droid! How can I regret that?

Only thing I regretted was that the copy-protected apps were missing til last week, and those are back... so life is good! :)

Ive downloaded and used all the leaks and can't understand why anyone would regret it... lol. If anything it gave early access to apps like navigator, which I have been using since v1. We are also aready familar with the OTA and all its bugs. :)

No regrets, if I wanted it that bad I would get a new eris and root it

I regret updating to the leak, but I do kind of agree.. I guess if I honestly regretted it thaaaaat bad I would take it back, but I just can't force myself to take a perfectly fine phone back and replace it just because I had to jump on the leak..

I'm kind of on the fence post, but I do know that I want root BAD.

In a manner of speaking, yes. But I was trying to root, and had previously downloaded, but not used, the V1 Leak. So when I go to move the root file to my SD card, I used the leaked one instead. Oops. But I've been on V3 since, and have to say that I've enjoyed the phone very much. The only problem I have is that if it's been a while since I rebooted it gets laggy. Oh and the 50% "bug." Neither of which really bother me.

EDIT: And I've had the blasted thing since November 6th, and it had gotten really old by May 1st.

No regrets if... If the new boot loader on the leak will allow future updates and bug fixes. V.3 really has been great. Phone is snappy, Google Nav works great, version 2.1 apps great. We just have to wait and see, can't vote yet.

I would have loved root, but in the time between leak 1 and root I would have destroyed my phone had it still been running cupcake. I hated 1.5. It was slow, unstable, and just useless. I had to run the 1.5 default home because sense was so laggy and unstable. With 2.1, I rarely have any lag. The only problem I have which continued from 1.5 to leak v3 is dialer lag. When I click on a name in the dialer app to call them, it sometimes takes over 30 seconds to initialize the call. It is the most annoying bug I've ever had with any phone, especially if it's an emergency and you really need to make the call. Maybe I should head over to verizon and get a referb because of the lagging.......

I don't regret it, I am very pleased that for the last couple of months I could use my Navigation the way it is suppose to work.

I sorta wish I could root so I could uninstall some of the crap apps that Verizon placed on my phone that are taking up space (speaking of, anyone have any idea when we Android will allow for SD app storage?).

I was upset that some of the protected apps were missing but those are back now :)

Some one mentioned, and the 99% Thread for v3=OTA, that XDA is saying v3 is OTA. If that is true then why can't we root? Anyone know if "they" are still working on the leak for us leakers to root? I would imagine not, but you never know.

No I'm not regretting my decision at ALL. I didn't have to deal with not getting MMS anymore, which my friend does send me a lot of and he was getting tired of sending to my email (and hoping then I still got it). So yeah, that and the added apps I could now access is an added plus as to why I don't regret doing the leak at all.

...although root could've been better D:

Greatly regret it because of the leaks I now get a silent phone almost daily... I want the OTA to rid it.
