Learning swiftkey

I'm using swiftkey version 4.4.1.241

I'm new to this android app. When i sweep my finger onto the letters, often the word prediction is wrong. I have to backspace, delete the word and type again. Is there such an option as follows?

I sweep my finger, the word prediction comes, if the word is typed wrong, then in the word suggestions listed in a horziontal row, I click the right suggestion and move on?

I was earlier using Swypekey in which there was such feature.

Nope. Swiftkey doesn't have a similar feature. Mainly it's because Swiftkey was originally designed for tap-typing and not swyping. It's a pretty new feature from Swiftkey actually, and Swype has had years to perfect it's approach. Basically, Swype if better at swiping, Swiftkey is better at typing. Choose one.

Okay, so what is more popular these days with people? Swype or swiftkey?

Not really sure. Lol. Personally though I prefer Swype these days.

And I prefer Swiftkey and I think that's what you will probably run into is no real dominate preference by either of them. Just maybe try both of them and figure out which one is best for you.

Of the two, I prefer SwiftKey.
However, I'm actually using the Google kb right now. I keep switching between that, SK and Kii. Just waiting 'til SK adds emoji, then that will probably be my 'permanent' kb.

Installed and using it now! I knew and promptly forgot about the beta, thanks for the reminder (again)!
Edit: since I'm never really happy with stuff, I thought the gesture trail could be turned off? Hmm.

I tried and could never get used to swype. Swiftkey knows my typing habits so well that I only have to hit one key per word in most of my typing.

That annoying glowing line that follows your finger around. You can turn it off in other kb's, I don't see it in either SK setting though.

I don't need it as I know where my finger's been

While it can get annoying for longer words because it looks like a snail has crawled all over the screen, lol, I do find it useful when I have to type a double letter like the two "t's" in getting, just so I can make sure I have gone all the way around the key before hitting it again!

Lol i dont swipe (flow) but yeah i see what you mean and cant see a way to disable it :(
Man i feel stupid. Ive been using SK for maybe 2wks on my tablet and just tonight i learned how to REALLY use it.
So.. you just tap in a very very rough vicinity of the letter you want and by the time youve finished the word, it KNOWS what you meant to type lol....
Im not a qwerty typer, on my phone i use a 9key pad and i dont use a desktop but since having this epiphany im loving swiftkey x10 lol!

Ps this was typed on my phone, no prediction so dont blame SK for the lack of punctuation :D

Between these two, I use Swype, but only in portrait. The reason is that the gesture typing makes it easy for me to type while using the phone with only one hand.

When I am able to use both hands for typing, I use Kii keyboard in landscape. I just find the landscape layout in Kii is more to my liking than any other keyboard layout on any other phone I have used.

I used to use SwiftKey, but I just didn't like any of the landscape keyboard layouts. The text prediction is great, but the layout causes me to make a lot more keying errors than with Kii.

The HUGE selling point for me with Swift Key is that is has by far the best prediction of any of the other key boards I have used. If you are the kind of person that kicks off a message with "good morning pal how are you doing today?" like I do daily, it's great because after the second time you actually type the phrase it it will "predict" the rest of it after you hit the "good" button. Of course it works with all kinds of sentences so after you have used the keyboard for only a few hours you can hit the predict a lot more often than actually typing in the words, which is what convinced me to stay with Swift!

Lol has anyone ever tried just pressing space over and over on SK? It's like a window to the things you chat about. Watch this.....

Well Laddie I am still waiting, when are you going to just keep pressing space over and over on SK so it's like a window to the things you chat about??????? LMAO!!!

Do it with Swype and it lags like crazy in landscape. I always enter two spaces at the end of sentences and the lag just drives me crazy. That's partly why I use Kii in landscape.
