Help Leaving email on server?

New Droid user. Old man. Help! If my phone retrieves my yahoo email first, then my mac Mail account does not recognize the email as new so it will not retrieve it. If mac Mail retrieves it first, both mac Mail and the Droid pick up the message. I can't figure out how to configure so both my phone and computer can retrieve my yahoo mail. Any thoughts? Thanks.
 
Hmm. ..with my Hotmail they both come in at the same time and I get notifications both places. I don't know anything about yahoo or Mac: (
