Help led flashlight app for incredible

Looks like someone is going to have to make one. I didn't see any. Also, looking at the nexus one apps they only work if the phone is rooted. Hopefully we get that root soon.

Im coming from an HTC6800 and the LED flashlight was my most used app by far. I really want to see how bright the Incredible is with the Dual LEDs.

I'm using Color Flashlight. Has all sorts off effects, colors, etc. Kinda cool.

yeah, I have a flashlight that uses the screen, but I want to use the leds because i also had a tp from Alltel and it was the best app.

There is an app called Droidlight LED Flashlight

It uses the LED lights, and from what I hear is good

Sorry can't tell you from personal use because my phone is still on its way :(

Hope this was good advice... let me know so I know what to use when my phone finally arrives

it says it only works for Motorola phones. since inc = HTC, it won't work

yeah already tried it, doesnt work at all.... I use this app all the time on the moto droid, and now that I'm using the INC I miss it :(

Mototorch for my Droid was awesome, I hope a dev can put one one quickly for the DI! When the Droid was released, I don't think it took more than 2 weeks for the LED flashlight app to be released.

How does one remove this app since it doesn't work? : ) Haven't had much time to mess around with this phone yet as I'm still at work but I saw that flashlight app and decided to give it a try.

I tried dragging it down to the trash can but when I go back to programs it's still there.

go to market, hit menu, hit my downloads.

touch the program you don't want and you will have the option to uninstall. the icon on the home screen is just a short cut.

i am not sure there will ever be an led flashlight for the incredible. when i go to the video camera, there is a button for the flash, but it is grayed out. they would have included the lighted video if it were a hardware option. i think with this sort of led they have real issues with heat dissipation, so they may have made them such that they can only be turned on briefly, but that allowed them to be much brighter.

i may be wrong, but that is how it looks to me.

I was thinking the same thing myself. I think you may be right. Even if you're not and someone is able to get the LED's to stay on, it's rather unnecessary as the Screen is bright enough that the Color Flashlight program (or any of it's successors) is more than adequate, and you're not risking heat damage to your phone hardware for having the LED's on too long

I use this as well. Mainly for the different color lights and the Strobe...that's neato.

Realistically, though, for my uses (walking around in the house at night when the fiance is asleep and i dont want to turn on the lights, checking the trunk at night for what nots, etc) the Droids home screen is bright enough to light my way.

Certainly brighter than the Curve 8330's screen. Talk about looking like a dinosaur next to this thing...WOWZAH!

I'm playing with some code now to see if I can get the flash to activate which would be the first step to getting a full app created. Here's hoping I don't fry my camera flash.

thank you for your work, we all appreciate it.

I asked my friend who has a droid if it has the flash available while video recording, and they said no, so the justifications that i had used for saying that it might not be possible are not true, so it is likely that i can be done.

it is probably just a mater of time.
