Hi all,
I recently got an Evo Shift as a secondary device, and while I'm not super impressed with it, it's not terrible.
However, there is one thing that is driving me absolutely nuts.
The LED that is hidden behind the earpiece speaker grill will NOT stop flashing.
It's flashing green about every two seconds.
There are no notifications in the notification menu, there are no new emails, texts, missed calls, voice mail, or anything else I can find.
I even totally uninstalled all the apps which were using the notification area, but the damn light still persists.
If I open the notification menu even slightly, and then close it again, the light stops immediately, but returns about 30 seconds to a minute later.
If I ignore the light, it will occasionally stop after a few minutes, and then start again a few minutes later.
I thought the light might have something to do with roaming or being outside the Sprint service area. I am using the Evo Shift as a WiFi only device, as I live in Canada.
If I turn off all the 4G, Mobile Data, and other cellular options, the signal bar will remain empty, with a small X above it. I assume this means that all cellular connections are turned off? Well even in this situation, the light will still flash.
If I turn all the cellular connections on and set the roaming to Automatic or Sprint Only mode, the light still flashes.
I can't get into the more advanced menus to change the CDMA progamming, because I don't have the MSL code, and Sprint said they are unable to provide it to me without the phone being active on an account, which it isn't.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
