LED notification light on the front ?

My blackberry blinks blue when connected to bluetooth, red when I have a message or missed call. It would seem weird to have it flash green "just because."

There's an option in BB for "Show connection LED" which will blink when you are in service range. I guess it would be useful if you are often without service so you'd know you can make a call when it's blinking.

There is a program for the mogul made by no2chem (nuerom.com) that will kill the signal LED and let it only blink when there is a purpose (new sms, email, missed call, etc). He has a program where you can control the different LEDs for different events. For example, make it blink blue (Mogul has a blue LED too) for a new email.

Sorry to go into that on an Android forum. I created an earlier version of the program for the Mogul (stroths LED Killer) before no2chem perfected it.

Wow, three years with the same phone, and NOW I come to find this out ! :D
Well thanks anyway, Im on my way to get the program to disable the light for the last 2 weeks ill be owning this phone ;)

Let's try this again. A) will the EVO's LED flash for more than 5 minutes (stock) and B) wil it flash for more than 5 min. with 3rd party apps (e.g. 'missed reminder'). THANK you....

I have an Evo.

The LED blinks green for new Gmail. Under settings -> Sound & Display -> Notification Flash, there is a list of checkboxes:
  • Missed call
  • SMS/MMS
  • Email
  • Voice Mail
  • Reminders
  • Alarms

Ping just owned everyone in this thread! LOL

See how easy he made it look :D

Ping not sure if this was asked but, can you customize each notification by a diff color LED or are they all the standard green LED? By the way I am sooo jealous lLOL

Hope you're enjoying it!

No, I don't see a way to customize color of LED notifications.

I love the phone. Even more than the Droid. Just waiting for someone to root & custom ROM it for maximum enjoyment :D

Does the LED flash for more than 5 min. ? If not will it flash for more than 5 min with a market app. (try 'missed reminders'). If not, I'm afraid this will be a no-go for me with only one way to turn the screen on.
