LED notification time

I finally got my first smartphone - a Thunderbolt (obviously ;)). I have read that you can't add more LED colors for notifications, but I wanted to know if anyone has found a way/app that will extend the time of the notification? I am not really bothered by the lack of colors, but I would really like for the light to blink for more than just a few minutes.

Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to do this with the stock software. You can find apps that allow you to change the notifications. For example, I use Handcent which is a MMS/SMS application. With it, I can set up "reminder" notifications that will illuminate the LED.
