Help LED Notifications

Does the LED only work when the screen is off? And anyway to have it work when the screen is on?

Phone isn't rooted. But when it is I will try that.

most of the time yes, but not 100% of the time, I've seen it continue to blink due to a calender notification while the screen is on

Mine only works when the screen is off. Which is fine because I don't see why it would need to work if the screen is on.. lol. If the screen is on your notifications should pop up in the top bar.
