Root Leedroid and Launcherpro plus

bishy

Newbie
Hi All,

I am currently rooted and s-off, with a 1 gig EXT3 partition.

I am using Leedroid's HD v3.3.3 GB port R5 A2SD rom with Launcherpro plus. Would I be any better off (speed or otherwise) using something like Gingervillian or miui, or do all roms run the same once Launcherpro is used?

I quite like the look of the HD rom with Launcherpro, would the whole thing look 'rougher' if I used gingervillian?

Does sense still run in the background slowing down the phone, or does Launcherpro replace this before it can start up?

Sorry for all the questions, but would like to get the best (look and performance) from this phone.

Thanks for all the help past and present.

Sense runs in the background. If performance and battery life are your aim, AOSP roms are much better than sense for this.

AOSP is simpler looking, but actually not having all the sense rendered graphics to me is a bonus.

This is what an AOSP rom looks like:

This is actually taken from my own rom.

Of course, you can theme all this to look like sense in the ultimate online theme kitchen anyway

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the reply and help. Could I use your rom with my 1 gig EXT3 partition and with my stock H-boot? It would be more convenient just in case I wanted to go back !!!!!

Would A2SD be installed and running, or would I need to do something with some terminal commands.

Thanks again for your help.

My rom is not designed to work with an ext partition. Its designed to work with a special hboot.

It would run with EXT if you flashed an a2sd solution, but this kind of goes against the grain of what the rom is about.

If you want a good, solid AOSP rom with a2sd, I suggest redux 1.2

If you like Redux 1.2, my rom is similar as it is based loosely around redux sources, with some things taken away and some things added (most notibly the homescreen image quality)

Thanks Dan, is there an idiot's guide (God knows I need it!) on how to change the h-boot to suit your rom (and to change back---just in case!) as I would like to try it because; correct me if I am wrong; this will allow me to use all the space on my sd-card.

Sorry to ask such a lot...........Thanks once again for all your help.

You are s-off I presume?

If so, there is my fastboot faq (it includes adb also -adb is completely different and irrelevant to this).

Although its not step by step, it furnishes you with all the info.

Yup s-off...............I'll go away and read. Thanks once again for all your help.
