Left my evo for an iphone 4, i think its time to go back?

I got an evo just around release date I loved it. For whatever reason i ended up keeping it just for a few months and ended up coming back to my original provider ATT for an iphone 4. Dont get me wrong the thing is really nice looking and its much better then the 3gs but its just not cutting it. I miss my evo, and im thinking its time to leave crappy att service once again and for all and get myself a white evo.. is it the right time?

you're going to pay some pretty hefty fees to get out of that contract. Sprint is having a big press conference in February to announce something (who knows what) so I would maybe wait until then to see what's going on. If nothing else wait until summer when the rumored evo 2 is coming (hopefully). just my opinion.

yes i know only the back door is white, but thank you for the warning just incase.
and i know cancellation fees will be quite hefty but they will be no matter when i cancel my contract. a rumored evo 2? i cant seem to find any information on that anywhere..in the mean time tho maybe its time i just go back and start with an evo?

It could potentially be that Sprint is adopting iPhone 4, I mean Apple made CDMA and dont see why they wouldnt kill 2 birds and drop iPhone on to the Sprint network as well....I am 99.9% sure that wont be what the conference on Feb 7 is about but we never know these days.

so.. is it the phone you dont like or the service?

what made you leave EVO? will still be issue when you come back..
jumping carriers and phones.. will cost... so be sure.

unless you rich.. then jump.. it only $$$

both the phone and the service have become quite the nuisance. as appealing as the phone is, it does get boring. i love my macbook and loved having iphones when they first came out but truly after having an android phone not much can compare. and really att customer service is horrible and i have been struggling greatly lately with dropped calls and not sent messages so perhaps im better off where i started?

You seem to have that boredom syndrome like me, have something for a bit, then get tired of it lol....I used to be like that til I got an Evo and to me there is no reason to jump ship because I feel this phone is superior over all, but its just my opinion cause I am sure something will come out that will beat the Evo sooner or later like the Motorola Atrix, I really like that thing cause spec wise it seems like a beast but epic fail going to ATT, maybe Sprint will get that phone I hope. I get great coverage and service from Sprint here in town (4G also) and their pricing plans are unmatched vs that of ATT, Verizon. even with this 4G surcharge

Pay the fees, eBay the phone, come out on top. This was one of the things I loved about the iPhone on ATT. New phone yearly for $300. Sell old phone for about $600-$700. You end up making $300-ish in the deal after seller fees. If you think of it this way, that's $25 off your monthly rates. I just came to this realization myself lol! And here I was talking myself into thinking Sprint was so much cheaper!

The rumor was born simply because the EVO has done so well. It would be almost idiotic if they didn't do a direct upgrade to the EVO around the 12 month mark. This is literally all there is o fthis rumor (at the moment anyway). There is a little talk about that new announcedment being about an EVO 2. Again, just talk, nothing concrete at all.

The white Evo from Best Buy just has a white battery door, the front is still black

It's more than just the door.

The back plane is white too. The part where you plug in the charger is all white.

Some people here put a black battery cover on the White EVO, and call it an oreo cookie EVO. Do a Google Images search for "white evo 4g" and you will see.

One of my coworkers told me she heard this was going to happen. I don't have a source though, since I have no plans on getting an iphone, so I didn't bother to ask where she heard it.

I am referring generally to the iphone -> sprint rumor, not that it is specifically going to be announced on feb 7.

Because Apple wants money and Verizon has already declared their intention to spend whatever it takes to keep the iphone off of Sprint/TMobile.

As for the original thread. Don't go back to the EVO already. Seems like a waste. If I spent that much money on phones and service in 6 months I would wait until something new comes out at the very least.

I switched from iPhone to EVO because of my monthly bill. I was paying $95/month with 450 minute calling plan and 400 texting/month. Compare that to $69.99/month for unlimited everything and add 25% discount in Las Vegas, I am now paying $65 total/month. The EVO itself is an added bonus....and we actually have the 4G service in Vegas.

Indeed part of the reason Im leaning towards the switch again is definitely because my att bill is just not option at the moment. the plans that sprint offers are much cheaper. now my only concern is, is there really a difference between buying at a sprint store versus buying at best buy?

^^^ None that matters...

and you can get better discounts from BB. hell .. online.. you can get better deals.
bb can also wave activation fees and give instant rebate!

warranty is still backed 100% by sprint.

BB has much better customer service.
Which is strange since Sprint

Im sure Sprint will have something new soon, so I'd wait. The Evo (in todays world) while I agree that there's not really anything better out there, is still an "old" phone, so common sense tells me that sprint will be bringing out a replacement soon enough. It's not like you dont already have an awesome phone to tide you over until you jump shiip

I'm still very impressed with how well the Evo has done. People are still buying the Evo and its definitely warranted with how great this device performs. If the Evo 2 does indeed come out and has the specs to make it a worthy upgrade I will sell my Evo and grab the ver. 2

I'll second this. If Sprint lets me do a yearly upgrade then I'm getting Evo 2 right away. My girlfriend already said she wants to use my Evo, so we'll see ;)
