Accessories Lego Dock

Yea that would be better. I'll put together a how to. I really don't have time to build a ton of these.

Have you tried the Lego "Design by Me" program on their website?? Is on main (Lego.com) page under quicklinks.

I believe you can design stuff and it will print out instructions(i think) and a parts list.

The bricks to make that first setup would be more than $50 alone. Im a LEGO addict and for some reason I never thought to make a dock out of them. Excellent idea. I'll be making a trip to the LEGO store Pick-A-Brick this week to get the supplies. Very well executed...

Well, When I saw your creation (genius) I had to try and create my own. I harvested parts from one of my sets and came up with this:

I dont have any other devices that I charge regularly, so I only needed the one space for the Incredible. Thanks for your inspiration! I used a cylinder block from an engine to hold the plug without needing glue. (I just needed to shave a bit off the plug)

Enjoy!

Nice work. I'll get the standalone one done soon. Not sure if i have an lego engine for that :)

That is awesome! I would love to have a parts list and a how-to guide. I don't think you could sell them for enough to make it worth your time, unless you found a way to get the legos cheaper.

This also inspired me. I didn't have any legos laying around, so I grabbed a coat hanger, wood rod, and stripped a wire for the rubber feet. It worked out good, and allows me to charge it when in the dock. Thanks for the kick start =)

You built the stand that I was picturing in my head, except that I want to add a few feminine touches to it, like maybe some pretty colors of polymer clay baked onto the metal to give it some color (probably red of course) Could you send me the dimensions of the front bar and the uprights? I wont have my DINC until tomorrow, but want something to do tonight.

Will you show some more pics. including the way you have the cable mounted.

Here ya go: I will try to make the best captions possible for these.

Here you can see the plug sticking out of the lego cylinder block, which is one of these pieces:

This is then connected to two long technic blocks.

This picture shows the back of the dock.

Here is the Bottom. I medium sized technic sticks to keep the wire from pulling out of the dock.

I will be happy to answer any other questions.

A while back, there was a contest in the Eris forums for Best Homemade Dock. My husband made this for me:

I'm liking this thread....how do I subscribe to a thread?

I bought one of these to use asa dock but don't like the fact that it can't charge in landscape mode but it the blueprints for the lego one aren't too hard or $$$ I'll try that.
