Root Lesson Learned: Never Put Off A Backup

On the 15th I decided that I was going to finally get around to flashing a rom as I had done everything i could to get as much out of the stock rom as possible... link2sd, V6 Supercharger, flashed picasticks and began overclocking... but the performance and battery life improvements along with theme support from CM7 tempted me so i went and backed up my apps with titanium backup, went into recovery, made my backup, did all the necessary preparations and flash the rom (BobZHome's IHO build) got it all set up and restored my apps

well this morning i decide to give swiftkey x another shot (i got it when it was free on amazon) it installed fine, the initial setup went just fine (including typing in login info so it could learn from gmail, fb, and twitter) a few seconds later when i went to start typing a few test sentences i taped on a text box and the keyboard did not come up instead the whole phone froze... pulled the battery and rebooted... it would boot up but then freeze shortly after kept trying, even tried to see if i could speed through and uninstall swiftkey to see if the obvious cause of all my sorrows was in fact the cause

no dice... banging my head on the desk and feeling like a moron because my most recent backup was the one i made before flashing

i restored my stock rom backup (the majority of my apps no longer working because the sd-ext was not backed up for some reason and it had been formatted when the rom was flashed) since i had somewhere to be and would need to be able to actually use my phone

got home and spent 2 hours reflashing, setting up, restoring apps, AND MAKING A BACKUP THIS TIME
