Root Let me get this straight....

So from everything I have read about the dinc2.
1. Root has been achieved, but it's not available public yet? Devs only from what I'm guessing.
2. Also read root is available for linux users, but the windows version is still impossible or very buggy from my understanding.

My question. Simply put.... I'm running vista, don't know squat about linux,
Can I root on vista? Get a custom recovery? And start overclocking? And install the debloated rom?

Sorry to ask such stupid questions, I just feel I'm getting two different stories.lol which to believe.

Also used to the other phone boards(og droid, droid x) where there are tons of posts and all you have to do is look hard enough and it had been answered. But given the fact that this phone is pretty new. Im sure all the good things will come in good time. Waited a year for cm7 on my dx. And that's still a work in progress.lol

Well #1 and #2 contradict each other. But yes root is only available for linux until they fix the windows version. No ETA on that. I don't know anything about linux either but I just followed the instructions that some people wrote up and now I'm rooted.

I rooted wife's DInc2 last night with the Windows version. It went off without a hitch. CyanogenMod flies on that thing!

Just repeating what others have said. Public root is available via Windows. Did it last night on Windows 7 x64 and am running Cyanogen 7 which is Gingerbread on the Dinc2
