Let's Get a Release Date from Verizon Ourselves!!!

I posted on their FB wall.

Where is my Galaxy Nexus? How about a release date? Why are release dates for carriers in other countries being released? This is supposed to be a big deal for Verizon and you guys are screwing it up. Get a release date and make it within the next week!

done with tweet (don't have Facebook):

Copied your tweet and added to it :)

@VerizonWireless Can you please give us a date on the Galaxy Nexus already? #notgettingRAZR #notgettingRezound

**EDIT**
Even though I never log in to Facebook, I said what the hell.

FB :
We need a release date for Galaxy Nexus VZW! A release date wouldn't kill you would it?!?

**EDIT2**
Just wanted to say that I do understand where Verizon is coming from IF they don't have a solid date yet planned. Every day as a community manager I get things like "When is EVGA going to release your X79 motherboard" or "When are the GTX 6 series cards coming out"?. Bottom line is, we usually don't know. We have soft launched products in the past only to not have them release on time. I can't even explain to you how difficult THAT makes my job!

That said, I would think Verizon already has a rock solid go live date, but I wanted to add the above for arguments sake.

Done. Don't think it will help, but provided me with 30 seconds of relieving frustration. PS: I did the post from my computer. Trying to use my OG Droid would have resulted in more frustration rather than less.

Flooding their customer service phone line is more likely to do some damage. They just don't care what people post on their Facebook or Twitter.

I don't know what the deal is with that idiot "Greg Martin" over on the FB Verizon page that keeps trolling with nasty comments to those of us asking about the Nexus. I really would like to put a foot up his backside.

Did my share - emailed the Midwest Operations exec as well as posted on Facebook (my name is Scott Greene). Hopefully we can get at least SOMETHING new out of this!

ya'll do realize that when the day is upon us, in like 7 days they may announce a release date, or just release it, remember the web only that we keep hearing for the 21st.

but if this works to satisfy your destructive needs :p

then have at it :):D
I still say that the 11/21 date was not "web only" as everyone was saying, but rather "week of". I used to work for an advertising agency, and "week of" was always "w/o" as that Verizon document showed. I've also been following Verizon smartphone releases since I bought my first one in 2004, and they don't use the term "web only", it's always been stated as direct fulfillment or online/telesales.

There is also no such thing as "just releasing it". The release date will always be confirmed in InfoManager at least a few days prior to availability. It used to be a few weeks prior, which was nice.

If you really want to push the envelope. Post on their Facebook and twitter that everyone should take advantage of the Holiday return policy. Go get a Rezound or a Razr and then return it when the Nexus is released.

Enough people do that and it will cost them a fortune in returns.

Got a response from the Midwest Operations exec's secretary (at least I think it's his secretary):

My inquiry:
To Whom it May Concern,
My name is Scott Greene and I'm a very satisfied Verizon customer living
in the Chicago area. I have a Thunderbolt and am ready to use one of my
family member's upgrades to get the Galaxy Nexus! It would mean so much
to me if I could get any sort of information about when I can expect the
phone to be available for order.
Thanks,
Scott Greene (proud future Galaxy Nexus owner!)

The response I got back:
Dear Mr. Greene,
Thank you for your correspondence to Verizon Wireless. Please provide
your Mobile Telephone Number or Account Number so that a member of our
staff may assist you.
Also, please provide your best contact number. Thank you.
Regards,
Kari

And I JUST got a call from her and she asked if I had signed up for the email list, which I said I had, and then she told me that they would send out an email literally the moment they publicly announce a release date! She of course said she had no information at the moment but it was very nice for her to reach out, and she said that they value customers who show a particular interest in purchasing the GNex. Anyways, just thought I'd put this up FWIW.

I got a call from the Regional President's office in Atlanta after my email. Unfortunately, she had already left for the day when I called her back, but I left her a message and will call her back in the morning. Once I have talked to her, I will let you all know what answer I get. Here's hoping...

Here is a link to the text of the email I sent if anyone is interested:
