Root Let's Get CM Onto Avant!

This is good news right? It means that flashing it isn't the problem but some files? How would this type of error be fixed?

Maybe videos aren't being scaled properly or the video resolution isn't set exactly right. I noticed one video I tryed to play the video player looked shrunken then crashed and soft rebooted while others it look and play very well.

If I can remember right, the only things that aren't working are video playback, camera, proximity sensor, and GPS..? (Not too sure about the last one) other than that its a pretty stable ROM, although I did have a problem trying to install 3rd party keyboards, for somereason when I tried to open the app up to activate it, it would do a full restart.
 
Network location isn't working right now I'm not sure about GPS. What happened to me is that when I tried to put it in high accuracy mode (GPS and network), it kept switching back to GPS only.
 
So far on my end network location is working. The only thing I recall is hw video playback camera and proximity sensor

I just downloaded this and played around with it Ive got the Metro avant, clean install no problems, video caused soft reboot (tried to play one from gallery). My location worked fine, camera force closes (says cannot connect to camera). Had 1 bar for lte, I switched to Metro APN and rebooted a few times all it would pull up was T-Mobile. Could send and receive SMS just fine. Didn't test MMS all around pretty awesome, just the few bugs that have been mentioned. Great work!

So I just read this entire thread lunch break and to be honest just started trying this project myself not two days ago but since there is pre-existing work I might want to try working with y'all guys. I know a bit about software development here and there, various languages, I use Git almost exclusively. cyanogen build system is pretty strange but I'm getting used to it. I am an Archlinux user as a year and a half ago, and I used Ubuntu prior year and a half before that and I'm really interested in getting Cyanogenmod running on this phone flawlessly.

you can catch me on IRC in the evenings (1800/2300) central time I typically hang out in freenode and espernet. I do however work for a living (manual labor) so don't expect me to be available at any given opportunity.
 
Samsung are very shady ppl. Last night I decided to download the kernel source for the g386w and its more complete than the avant kernel source. Starting off by the camera . the core LTE has the camera drivers while for the avant its not in the kernel source. Guess I'm rebasing the kernel once again and starting it from scratch again.

The newest one is on page 21. Says fixed incoming calls then the fix for the Menu key is right below that.
