Root Let's Get CM Onto Avant!

Samsung are very shady ppl. Last night I decided to download the kernel source for the g386w and its more complete than the avant kernel source. Starting off by the camera . the core LTE has the camera drivers while for the avant its not in the kernel source. Guess I'm rebasing the kernel once again and starting it from scratch again.

Well then. Theres Samsung for you. Good luck on your progress, Godspeed.

Good luck and remember, if you need any help, don't be afraid to ask for it. Everyone has to start somewhere! Keep us updated :D

Going to flash it here in a min and will do testing as a daily driver tomorrow.

EDIT: Watch for installing Spotify without a backup made in titanium backup so you can restore your account so you don't get the video playing during the sign in screen and it crash the phone.. Learned the hard way lol

RE-EDIT: Headphone jack isn't working, music still plays from speaker when I plug in my headphones/Aux cord.

So what exactly is the issue with flashing with Heimdal is there some sort error message that appears when attempted some sort of clue as to what's going wrong? I had an issue with Heimdall when flashing my galaxy note 2, so sort protocol failure and had fixed it by patching the bridge manager file.

Proximity sensor and video playback
So with the video playback issue, I know most videos don't work. Apparently, I was on iFunny today and I was able to view a Vine and it wasn't a gif (iFunny's latest update). How is that possible if every other video (even the Vine application itself) doesn't work?

HW accelerated decoding doesnt work like for example mxplayer if u set decoding for software it'll work but selecting hw decoding will soft reboot the phone once u select a video to play

I have to admit thats really unusual to see video playback not work. The early builds of a rom on my other phones never had a problem like that. But then again this is my first Samsung device. Hopefully that and the camera can eventually get fixed. I tried the Rom and its really smooth and responsive. One odd bug I found was with changing to frequencies but its never sticks it just goes back to 1190 mhz. It could be the reason battery drains slightly more than touchwiz. But a great job building the early builds. Hopefully, once this is stable we can get a nice custom kernel with overclocking/undervolting. It would be excellent :D!

Not really. Just means that the wrong libs are being communicated with. We had this issue on the L70
