Root Let's Get CM Onto Avant!

This sounds pretty good. Hopefully we can get help stabilizing this Rom and eventually get lollipop CM12. This phone has so much potential its a joke lol. Cant wait to see what he or she can do for us.

So did you donate your avant? Are you getting a new one or did you get a new device and donate your old avant? Just curious, don't mean to pry into your private life a little lol
 
Woah I've been mia for a bit, I'm starting on doing these types of things and always run Ubuntu so if there's any need fo' help I'm here.

I was considering getting a HTC one m7 or an s4 or note 2 used but I found a used avant on Craig's list for 50 bucks so I'm still on the avant band wagon. I almost got a zmax but with a locked bootloader and no root I knew I'd go crazy. Plus the huge bezels make the zmax really bulky even for a phablet and I like to use my phone with one hand most of the time.

Nice, that's a pretty good deal. What kind of condition was it in? And yeah I was looking into the zmax until I saw locked boot loader and I noped the hell out of that.

Its in near perfect condition. Just a couple very small scratches on the screen that are only visible if you turn off the screen and wiggle it under a light.

Nice. I got my avant used off eBay for $75 in about the same condition you did.

Edit: I did get lucky though since it was one of those things where they have a bulk pack and the condition of each device is different, and mine was supposed to be way worse lol
 
Hey everyone, I just had a question about this ROM. Does anyone have any idea why it takes so long for the screen to turn on? Not even from deep sleep which is SOMEWHAT understandable, but when pressing the power button it takes about a second or two for the back light to turn on. I noticed that a delay of the same type does occur on the stock rom when power saving mode is on and the CPU is being restricted, though the delay is of course much less. Any thoughts??
 
I don't understand how you guys are building this. I'm stuck on the missing cyttsp4_params.h missing. I've change a little bit of the code in cyttsp4/Makefile and I believe somewhere in the cyttsp4_core.c where there seemed to be a error with how it was reading it.

The makefile doesn't pickup on the "-" before the = which makes the separator disappear. I've removed all tacs and looked for anything else like spaces and got rid of it.
