Root Let's Get CM Onto Avant!

you could make it baseless. just take the files you copied and put them in a flashable that flashes over cm. that way if cm gets updated you dont have to remake it. the end user can just flash it over the new build. make sure you edit the updater script so that it doesnt format /system and it will just overwrite the cm files with paranoid files. then theres not really any dev support needed for paranoid. plus you dont need to get the cm devs permission to port because it doesnt contain any of their files.

!!! I remember you from the ms-770 (lg motion) forums :D i it took me a sec back then to use baseless Roms

I'm glad to see such great progress in this ROM. I'm very much glad to see devs just willingly using their own time for this. Even though I've reverted back to stock (with some mods from the other forum), I think I'll come back over.

did anyone else find that their MAC was changed after flashing this rom? tried using mac spoofing apps, replacing WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin in /firmware/wlan/prima with a copy from the stock samsung rom... not working

Are you referring to the CM ROM or the new t-mobile ROM? Because when I tried the t-mobile ROM on my metro Avant I ended up with a carrier locked phone (I had it specifically unlocked before I left the U.S.). However, when I flashed back to the stock metro ROM, the phone was once again unlocked. I'm wondering if it wasn't a change in the MAC address that triggered the lock of my foreign SIM. Hmm...

Can the ROM be posted somewhere else or like on page 1 were it can be found this thread is way to long to be searching through 120 pages trying to find a rom

At the same time look at it this way I beta test iOS firmware on my iPhone, the best way to work bugs out is through feedback
