Root Lets Get Root

Has anybody tried poot?

poot is that another way to root dose it work?

No, this was the result of "poot"

[HIGH]------------------------------------------
Path is:
"/sbin:vendor/bin:/system/sbin:/system/bin:/system/xbin"

no su was found in $PATH
2012 giantpune
[-] can't get a handle on it: -1 No such file or directory

A demon materialized while pooting. Error code: 18
su binary was not written
------------------------------------------[/HIGH]

I'll continue to try all the exploits that could potentially work I'm much less willing to overwrite the current working rom, however, would like to avoid bricking this thing.

Is there information anywhere on how some of these exploits work? I could start attempting modifications to them adapted to this phone's particular setup.

Thanks :smokingsomb:

I PM'd k0nane inquiring about the previous root hopefully he may find the time to comment on potential possibilities.

Yes? That's what this thread is about. What about what exploits you attempted, how did they fail? Thanks for your contribution.

I have used superoneclick 2.3.3 and it freezes on 7 and says waiting for device, and then freezes so i have to shut it down.
Nothing works, i tried everything i could find.
Does anybody have a root program that works?
I dont like locked cellphones, thats why i rooted my other samsung admige 3g from metro pcs.
Now i just bought this new white samsung galaxy admire 4g, and i can't root it even with my old program that i rooted my samsung adimire 3g with.
This sucks!

ATM there's no root exploits founded to work with this device... you can either wait or try other methods of rooting (very risky, you might turn it into paperweight) ;)

Hey look, Shabby's here. He was correct in saying that the old Admire root is useless for that device and doubly useless here.

Guess if I'm here, the Squad is in some fashion. Is the bootloader locked on this device?

no its not, im kind of confused about what cpu this phone has as all i can ever find is 1ghz. but either way if i had to guess id say a single core msm8655 (same as the galaxy rush/reverb). the best shot these guys might have with root is via cwm like i did with the reverb :)

The actual model of the unit is SCH-R820 Using that I searched for a data sheet or at least some detailed tech specs but the information was scarce.

Cortex A8 @1GHz

...and that's pretty much it

I did some searching on Cortex A8 @1GHz and was confused? ...isn't that in computers lol

Here's some more

Key features of the Cortex-A8 core are:

Frequency from 600 MHz to 1 GHz and above Superscalar dual-issue microarchitecture NEON SIMD instruction set extension (optional) [citation needed]

VFPv3 Floating Point Unit (optional) Thumb-2 instruction set encoding Jazelle RCT (Also known as ThumbEE instruction set) Advanced branch prediction unit with >95% accuracy Integrated level 2 Cache (0

Yea the A8 is in a LOT of things. I would be willing to do a teardown of my phone and take pictures of the chips/board layout after work today. Don't know if any of that is even helpful as it's a software obstacle here :(

PS I'm a hardware guy, working in robotics automation so my software skill is limited.
