I didn't get them from the market. Someone in this thread posted a link to them I just downloaded and added to my phone.
 
So I'm very interested in trying LauncherPro but does my phone have to be rooted? What if I don't like it? Will I be able to go back to sense without losing my files?

Am I even asking the right question

Don't have to be rooted. My layout a couple posts up looks exactly like it did before I rooted. You can try it and easily go back to Sense in seconds. You can use an app like Home Switcher to switch back and forth on the fly. It's really easy.

you can download docks....go to the forums at launcherpro.com or there is an app in the Market called "LPI Icons". I think it is $1 (can't remember) but it makes it easy to download icons and docks for launcher pro. One you have the docs, go to menu/preferences / appearance settings/ dock background and select "custom"
 
does anyone know how to stop my stock icon on the notification bar from poping up since im using handcent? i get both notifications stock and handcent......hancent is default...thanks for the help

Open the stock messaging app, hit menu, then settings, then uncheck "received notification."
