Root LFY 1.7 available in ROM Manager

EDIT: Fixed now. Thanks!

Hi,

So, using Skyfire, I thought I could remove the stock browser, and I ran Liquid's script to remove it.

Now Skyfire doesn't work. :( I'm guessing I needed the stock browser.

Can someone send me the browser apk and let me know where I need to install it to?

Thanks.

David

downloaded.

backing up apps...as i type

cant wait to flash.

i have 1.4 and my phone has been running great...i scored a 1504 on the quad test...so i hope this runs just as fast...

thanks!!

alright...i just finished wiping my factory data (after i backed everything up)

and now i'm stuck on a boot loop in the Moto M...

any ideas why?

EDIT: my bad...i think i only installed the update...and not the ROM...i will flash the ROM and then the update...see if that works...lol

I would suggest using GirLluvsDroid method for installation. I am going to reinstall this way:

I ALWAYS wipe and start clean when downloading a new ROM. When I DL the final release version later today, I'll wipe again and start fresh even though I'm now running the really close to final test 1.7 version from Saturday. It takes a little extra time and effort, but it's so worth it in the problems you avoid.

Here's how I do it:

twistedlim, do me a favor, please, and next time post a link to my instructions rather than copying them -- and the only reason I say this is that I've updated these instructions and they didn't get changed in your post. Here's the updated version: http://androidforums.com/liquid0624...urce-get-fast-before-melts-8.html#post1694578.

Could you provide a little more detail on EXACTLY what you did before you rebooted -- in other words, did you do anything other than a factory reset before you rebooted?

I wiped my factory data (using Clockwork). i also wiped my boot data and system data. and then (where i messed up) i installed the update zip file...not the actual ROM zip...

but i now flashed the ROM...and i am reloading my apps and data...

thanks for the help!!

This rom is smooth, but the battery life for me is terrible. I am experimenting with different overclock settings to see if that helps.

My battery was going a little bonkers, running real hot and then very cool. I wiped and reinstalled and it seems to be running a lot more normal. I think something carried over from another rom.

Has anybody else had a bug that when switching songs with the volume rocker with the screen off causes a song to play for a sec or two, then skip to another song over and aver?

The music controls in LFY 1.7 are on the lockscreen itself, not in the volume/camera buttons. The only thing that happens when I use the volume rocker when the screen is off is that the volume adjusts.

That could be why it is giving me problem then:D. It has been working for me since I flashed it. Maybe a remnant from not wiping? I was using SS before. I guess if it doesn't have volume rocker controls, I can solve the problem by flashing a rom that does.

Same thing here. Battery life is absolutely terrible. The battery didn't even last a day with very limited usage while on 'interactive' settings. I donated to Liquid a while ago because I like his work in general, but that battery issue is really a deal-breaker for me. I'll be re-flashing to UD, much better battery life there.

for those having bad battery life try turning compache off or setting your governor to on demand instead of interactive.

I am running compcache with the 1gig kernal and my batt life is great so far, not sure what you guys are doing, mine seems to run about 18 hours under normal usage, maybe 1 hour talk and 50 text and some browsing.

im getting the same. This is by far the best battery life i have gotten with a rom. 1.7 is also a much better rom on my phone. bb.5 was choppy when running with a slayher kernel but this with 1ghz kernel is amazing.

I've actually been getting really bad battery life. It doesnt last for half my day. The only good thing I have noticed is it charges up really quick. I mean in less than an hour it will be fully charged from 10-20%. So it's cool...but I am thinking about flashing fly1.4. I had great luck with that verison.

Any ideas on how to increase battery life?

Same problem... Battery will not last as long.

different kernel? This is the first rom i can use a slayher kernel with. UD and BB i had to switch to Chevy for stability or better battery life.

I think I need to give this some time to settle in, but my CPU temps get hot really quick using the kernel that came with LFY v1.71. I turned off the CPU governing within LFY performance settings, because I like to use SetCPU profiles. The phone will be at about 28 degrees C when I turn the screen on after being set to 400MHz with screen off.

As soon as I start doing pretty much anything, especially web-surfing, very quickly my CPU temp will go up to 50+ degrees C. Streaming flash has kind of become unrealistic with this Kernel. It doesn't get so hot that the phone reboots, but I have profiles set to cool it off. My phone will probably fry it's self if I keep that up.

I will eventually try my good old trusty P3Droid LV 125-1000 MHz. Hopefully it will work with this ROM.

Note: This kernel never runs "room temp" The best I get seems to be 80 degrees F with screen off CPU set to 400MHz. As soon as I do anything the temp skyrockets.

I would recommend if you are having battery problems, either too hot, or not lasting long enough to completely wipe and reinstall using GirL's method. Mine was all over the map temp wise and the battery was taking a beating. I reinstalled and it will sit idle for the day without hardly running anything off the battery. I am getting a solid 24-30 hours on an average use charge now using setcpu and the 1000 slayer.

Would re-doing exactly what I just did really solve CPU temp issues? I think it's just that Slayer Kernels, on my phone, run really, really HOT. My battery temps are a little higher than on P3Droid Kernels, but I'm really just worried about the CPU temp.
