Root LFY v1.9 with tons of Theme Options!!

this may be the fastest rom I have ever seen. I have gotten 1700's consistently in quadrant and my phone's battery has been amazing so far. I think I'm going to have to update the sig now.

It's always a best practice to wipe, but you can certainly try it without and count your blessings if you have no issues. As a side note, I never never install anything from ROM Manager (although I find it very useful for managing and restoring backups, making backups, fixing permissions and flashing recoveries). I've read about too many install issues that originate from there. I always go to the main ROM source, DL the ROM to my SD card, boot into recovery and use the "Install zip from sd card" option.

I posted the changelog in post #111 above.

Well, due to lack of time, I installed v1.95 directly over v1.9 WITHOUT wiping, and as suspected, there are no problems.

The Droid2 keyboard is nice (however, I only use Swype). With Swype, I no longer have to go into Settings-->Language and Keyboard to enable Swype every time I switch batteries or otherwise reboot my Droid. I like that a lot.

What I don't particularly like is the phone dialer layout, especially when a call is in progress. That menu, for me, is completely non-functional... all buttons are dead. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

I really love the Liquid Tweaks... I keep my CPU settings set to Performance, and overclock settings set to the max 1.1Ghz. I figure that since I'm getting horrible battery life anyway, I might as well go for the gusto with speed. What I like most about this is that the settings stay put even after rebooting. I couldn't get SetCPU to do that without causing problems.

Speaking of speed, this really is the fastest and smoothest ROM I've ever used. My first Quadrant benchmark posted an 1891. I couldn't believe my eyes. That is by far the highest I've ever gotten (1600+ a time or two, lots of 1300 - 1500). I don't know how to make a screen shot or I would have been bragging about this a few days ago!

Other than that, I really love this ROM and I will stick with LFY until I upgrade early next year.

A lot of people (including me) aren't fond of that MIUI dialer, which has many reported issues. You should install the stock dialer patch I posted a link to in Post#120 of this thread.

I'm running the 1.95. my "ongoing" notifications is black text. I have changed the color in the interface tweak and rebooted but it remains black and therefore unreadable. other notifications show in white text as wanted.

Any help would be appreciated.

By far the best rom I have used to date! Very fast and stable...My battery life is amazing too...Unplugged at 8 this morning...Sent around 50 texts, downloaded some apps and some angry birds...At 80% at 330...

I love LFY but this 1.95 has been hard on my battery. I let it completely run out and charge from fresh, still bad, I just now used liquid tweeks and set my cpu to powersave mode and see if that helps at all. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm not gonna change roms just wanna get more battery life out of this one. Thanks.

well used tibu to reinstall rom manager and now that seems to work, but the power save option isnt awesome as its slowed my phone down 10x but im gonna let it all load up and see how slow it runs.

Install super low voltage kernel worked great. But still not as good as id like.

Any talk of updating the themes for the new v1.95 framework and does SLV stand for standard low voltage or super low voltage?

Did you by any chance make a backup of LFY v1.9? If you did, and if you had it themed, you could flash back to that and then flash 1.95 on to of it without wiping and you will have your theme. I had no problems at all installing v1.95 on top of v1.9.

hi .. v1.9 is my first rom .. followed the instructions on the 'instructions page' .. was pretty painless actually - thanks! .. also downloaded the revolution 1.9 theme .. but it still looks like the original black liquid - i've loaded it twice .. i checked the 'goods' subdirectory and the wallpaper i see in the revolution screen shots isn't there - all that's there is the original black liquid wallpaper .. so .. i'm guessing i'm doing something wrong loading the revolution theme? what did i miss? thanks ..

no .. that didn't work .. wiped, then reloaded lfy 1.9 .. used it for a bit .. then loaded the 1.9 revolution theme .. didn't change a thing that i can see .. still not sure what the problem is ..

Did you load LFY 1.9 or 1.95? Thinking maybe the 1.9 themes don't work on LFY 1.95. Also the rev theme looks pretty close to the regular LFY, but I'm sure you checked the screen shots and can tell the difference.

Is there an alternate download for the LFY 1.95 themes as the links on the download site in the OP don't work.

Also, has anyone tried the Chevy No. 1 kernels with LFY 1.95? My droid likes those best.

Just got a new Galaxy Nexus and the wife wants the OG Droid. I wipe and reinstall LFY 1.95. Problem is the Launcher Pro thats built in has expired and as soon as it boots it opens the browser and tries to go to Launcher Pro's website. You cannot back out of it to do anything...I can't even configure the wifi because of this. Any ideas?
