Hi i have a LG Ally, that i rooted and flashed velocity v4 to, anyways for some reason after i rebooted my phone it cant get pass the droid eye thing and just loops on it until i take out battery, i can get it into recovery mode, but only the alternate one, because the ClockWork one wasnt working, so far i have tried reinstalling velocity v4 from the alternate recovery, but it still always just loops, is there anything i can do to fix this? i can access my SD card still by using the USB dongle in the recovery mode. Sorry, im new to all of this, any help is appreciated.

Did you wipe cache and delvik cache and you are experincing a boot loop probly because of it try doing that if it dosent work flash a back up that is if you made one

Ok go into recovery go to backup/restore then go to nand restore and there you go it will restore your phone to its previous state

To be honest with you i have no idea but you did go to nand restore right if you have more then one try another or you could try it agian

it says "error run 'nandroid-mobile.sh restore' via adb." what's tht mean?
Do you have the SDK installed? If not, you need to install it, along with the LG Ally USB drivers.

I found this, that if you can mount the mini-sd card in a computer, do that, and in the root of the card, make a directory named "sd", and it should work.

ok I'll try tht out. If it doesn't work, am I able to restore with the backup rom I made in rom manager? I have the boot.img on my sd card, but would I hav to rename it to boot.zip or is there another option? Thanks
I'm really not sure. As long as you have your nandroid backup, and performed the reflash of it with the adb, I believe you should be able to get back into Android itself.
However, I'd suggest hopping onto the Ally IRC channel to ask further.
ok, what would happen if i wipe all user data? at this point it doesnt matter to me what i lose or if it unroots it i just want it to start up. Or can i try flashing a different rom?
Well, before flashing any new ROM, you need to wipe the Dalvik Cache, the user data, and the cache; then you flash the new ROM, and then reboot.
So, yeah, if you don't care about losing anything currently on the phone, go ahead and wipe all of those, then re-flash the new ROM from the recovery, or restore your nandroid. You should be good to go from there.
What recovery ROM are you using?
ok i think ill go with tht because its easier for me to understand lol, my recovery rom is just the backup i made of my rom before all this happened. Just to make it clear, when i click " WIPE ALL USER DATA" it deletes the cache and dalvick cache also along with everything else, thats fine right?
