Root LG Ally Update Problems.

So I'm currently on Velocity 1.0 and 2.2.1. I want to know the proper steps to going to Velocity 1.2 and 2.2.2. I can't seem to get it right the way I have been doing it. If anyone can help that would be very much appreciated. :)

Dont think you can "upgrade" per se. Im pretty sure you have to just load it like any other new rom.

Nandroid/Wipe/Flash/Reboot

I am sure I will be corrected if Im wrong.

Actually, you CAN upgrade. Velocity can be flashed without wiping data, but it is recommended, as it has a possibility to cause problems. Don't worry about 2.2.2, it does not matter. If you so desire, you can just wipe the two caches (/cache and /dalvik-cache) from recovery, and flash the ROM. HOWEVER! I recommend just using the Velocity Scripts to backup your apps (or a backup app like Titanium Backup) and wiping everything.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info guys! But now my problem seems to be that when I drag over ANY type of ROM into the root of my SD card it starts to copy over to it but then it hangs at some point and doesn't finish copying over. :( Any way to fix this?

EDIT: Never mind. I went into recovery mode and mounted it from there and it copy's over fine now. :)

When in my recover mode what is the necessary process for a nand backup? I get multiple options.

Pretty much everything but .android-secure and sd-ext should be backed up. Recovery isn't necessary to back up, but it can come in handy if something happens.
