LG Connect Developers...?

I heard this Phone does not have many Developers, if not, then none at all... I have a Pantech Pocket, which is very different, but I kinda feel some type of Sympathy... If you don't have any Developers at all, I'm willing to step up to the Plate and make sure all of my Applications are compatible with the LG Connect and Pantech Pocket as the main Priorities.

That's good to hear bro we have a couple of good guys from the esteem coming over,I myself, shinyside and fuzzy are gonna be porting over some mods and themes.
 
Sounds good man! We just came over here to help too. But.... WE NEED TESTERS PEOPLE! If you want stuff for this phone we need YOU and if no one wants to test everyone chip a few bucks in and buy a used Connect so we can theme, mod, dev and show you some cool shit along the way. The phone could have a bad ESN I don't care. But with out help we need the device!!
 
I don't have problems testing. As long as my work schedule doesn't get in the way. I am all for that learning experience.

For themes and roms alike.

So what kind of applications are you working on? It would be awesome to have APPS made specifically for the connect if. If only to gain the space lost to useless lines of code meant for other devices.

Well, right now the only Application I'm working is the Application for my Website's Mobile Version.

I will in fact need some help with this starting off. I feel a lot better with the Knowledge that I will not be the only one for the LG Connect, now, I just need to actually find people with my own Phone. xD
 
I am trying to learn the Android way of making apps but It is hard so I will TRY as best as I can to get a Galaxy Nexus and me and friends will TRY very hard to make it portable to the LG Connect 4G with a one click program so It will be easy to install and you barely do the trouble (My friends have Droid Charge , LG Connect , LG Esteem , Droid Bionic , Droid RAZR MAXX , Pantech pocket , Palm Pre (Not an android lol) ETC )

So I will ask them and they will help and I will even stop my current project to do this (I was making a game , so I can put it on 4Shared as a apk and then tell people about it here so they can test it , but it can wait)

If I can get a Galaxy Nexus as fast as I can (With Unofficial Jellybean 4.1 , Then I can MAYBE port it to LG Connect with help!

I will ask right now and start away , Hope it works , I will post if anything has bugs or goes wrong (Bugs can always be fixed!)

I really want to be a great person and help since I am new and I want to be really active and I do ask alot of stuff
 
Ok Me and my friends have broken everything up in parts (5 parts)

(Done) Part 1 - Phone compatibility (Just to even get the ICS Theme)

Part 2 - Apps (We need to fix a whole list of apps … Guess ICS and GB are really different)

(Done) Part 3 - Utilites (Camera , Calculator , Etc)
______________________
Part 4 - Settings (Wifi , Mobile Hotspot , ETC)

Part 5 - File changes ( Boot animation is in this part and changing around files so it all works together and perfected)

We might need testers at any time , Since sometimes users (Rooted ones) get different results! I will try to get my hands on some LG Connects so I can try to finish the ICS ROM (Is it actually technically a ROM?) It would take 2-8 weeks , No more , No less :)
 
If you want to test , I could give you the "beta" most likely in 4 weeks or so.... But then you will need to change ROM's +again+ when the full version (I guess) is out , so... If it's ok with you , I can post it soon , If you need your phone and you want It with Stock ROM , then that is fine :)
 
@Secret are you all setup on github? Would like to take a look-could aid in getting ICS to the Esteem also.
 
I can make it portable to Esteem , But esteem is only 1 GHz so it will be A BIT more tricky but I will do it AFTER I make it for connect (2-8 weeks , No more no less :) )
 
It will not be just a Launcher Theme , It is a ROM (Whatever it is , I am not sure with those names) It changes everything , Dialer , Camera , Gallery , Settings , Only thing is I can't change the pixel density so it won't be the best HD screen on the real Galaxy Nexus but it will look the same , Hard to tell the exact difference :)

You will most likely need ROM Manager or something else , Or replace the phones files yourself with the ROM's file!

Update - The ROM for the LG Connect 4G will work on the esteem with a tiny bit of lag , Since the esteem is lower clocked and I am optimizing the apps for the LG connect , Though the ROM is compatible with both phones and the installation process with ROM Manager will be like so below...

1. Rom Manager Opens
2. Click ROM from SD Card
3. Click the ROM that we are making right now
4. It will say back up current rom (Click the checkbox for yes)
5. Reboot
6. You get a screen with ICS boot up animation
7. Then it says "Installing ..."
8. Then it says "ICS ROM has completed" (Something Like this)
9. "Thank you for Installing"
10. The Basic Galaxy Nexus 4.0 Setup (I know ICS is for GSM carriers and HSPA+ , but the files are made so it works with MetroPCS 4G LTE Card and the MetroPCS 1x,3G as well!

Note - This order might change at any time to make it even easier to install ,

Once you have the Rom

When you turn it on , It will go in this order

1. Turn it on yourself
2. ICS Boot Animation
3. (Here goes MetroPCS Boot Animation , but we removed it for you guys!)
4. Screen saying LG Logo and at the bottom it says "With help from SecretFlamez" in small letters

And have had experience on many versions of android... You start to learn , and you read , and read , and read , and try , and learn , until you get it right! I know it is very hard and time consuming! Me and my friends (They refuse to join the forum for business reasons) Are working as hard as we can when we have the time , I am currently working on apps , One is working on the Interface a bit , One is on Performance , and one is on boot animation , turning off animation , sequence , etc

We all have a job in this and we all work together , Now , Since we are being slowed down (Uggghhh 4th of July , Not a party.... I am usually forced to go to them and "enjoy" it , when I can just sit down with a friend and talk about stuff and phones)

So soon 2-4 weeks (Hopefully) We will have a beta version for people to test out if they wish!

(NOTE - Anything on the beta , DOES NOT mean It will be in the final release , things can change at any time , so don't come to conclusions , since I don't like it when people are like "Look at the screen , it looks like it will get voice search" or something and then "Guess they didn't put voice search into it :(" Just a little note/comment...)

If you want , I can put a file apk so you can test some ICS apps (They work on Gingerbread after coding) They have the ICS theme/layout with the blue bared tabs , etc , I can post APKs to 4Shared , Though I am not completely sure about just putting the APK so other people can edit it or copy as their own (Many people do that on 4Shared , It gets hard to find the original)

Also , Reply with a WHOLE LIST of update to ICS Rom if you want it , It will be taken into consideration , Or we can just give you ICS ROM so no optimization and no special upgrades , tell us what you want , and we might do it
 
You're referring to a theme from your previous post. You stated that you don't know the difference between a ROM and a theme:confused:

Thank you very much for you and your friends working with us on this great device. If it isn't too much to ask, Can we get the WHOLE LIST of updates to ICS. It will be worth the wait.
